So God's Word doesn't count unless it's backed up by secular sources that may well also have been written by someone with a bias? Don't forget that pagans had a vested interest in not letting the truth of Christ get out, but thanks to Him, it did anyway. However, on this site, we're not so focused on these kind of academic debates. We rely primarily on knowledge that is available in 2400 different languages, has been carefully studied, is readily available to anyone, and that has been accepted by a vast majority of Americans. Our greatest source was written by no obsequious scribe; in fact, it challenged the greatest temporal powers (and continues to do so). Despite centuries of continual attack, the greatest people on Earth have consensually accepted it's veracity.
I'm no enemy of skepticism. I think it's a valuable tool. But even a skeptic must eventually ask himself: "What would I accept as truth?" Trendy opinion?
