  • Curious

Just so you know I didn't come here to cause any problems. I simply stumbled upon this site this evening and I am curious about your faith and beliefs. I identify myself as a Christian of the Catholic faith however I have had doubts of that faith for sometime. I am presently in search of a faith that best suites me and what I believe.

I am simply curious and would like to know more!

Let me see if I understand what you are saying....You don't like the Catholic nonsense and no one disagrees with you so far.

So you are shopping for a faith that says what YOU BELIEVE?!?!? That's backwards. You find JESUS and read the BIBLE and that TEACHES you what to believe. You can't go around making stuff up because it's what you want to believe!

You are going straight to hell, Missy!

If you're a papist then you aren't a Christian. Take a look at THIS thread. Christians worship Jesus, not His momma.

How old are you? What does "CDN" stand for? Are you one of those cross dressing queerboys who prances around in a skirt and calls itself a girl?
      Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

I think you mean you want something that is closer to the truth. In that case you have found the right place for it. Just be sure to ask questions and maintain a civil tone here, ma'am. Do that and you will be given what answer you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

Welcome and have a nice stay.
I have no sig to put here. Just haven't thought about it yet and don't have an idea what to do. Got suggestions? PM me and let me know.

Wow .. what a welcoming commitee.
For one I am female and secondly yes I am Canadian! Since when was that a crime.

Shinigami: Thank you for the warm welcome!

What I am in search of is a missing piece of my life. Yes I believe in Jesus however some faiths that I have studied ... well I don't believe they are the way.

I hope I am making sense.

If you want a faith that suits you and what you believe, at least be intellectually honest enough to make up your own.

Every cult out there declares itself the One True Religion. Not one of them says that it's one of several you can choose from! What would be the point?

Wiccans say that there is a "lord and lady" that they worship, and when people die, they go to Summerland.

The Catholics also have a Lord and Lady, but they call them Lucifer and Mary. They claim to be Christians, but they make up places like "Purgatory" (never mentioned in the Bible, see for yourself), so they can sell "indulgences" to suckers the bereaved widows of wealthy men.

Hindus claim that everyone goes on a great merry-go-round of reincarnation, from insect all the way up to Brahmin, before achieving the greatest aim, leaving existence. This is really a means for social control, as the religion is used to enforce their caste system; you are born to a certain status, and that's where you must stay. It prevents the poor from trying to assert themselves, you see.

If you tell any of these groups that you want to "try something else on for fit", they will tell you that the demons they worship will condemn you to Hell for leaving! (or a lower level on the reincarnation wheel, if you're Hindu)

Now, tell me . . . if you "pick" a faith, are you then going to decide to believe it? What happens when you change your mind later?

God is God. He created the universe. You can't just put on a new religion like a new dress, and toss it aside when it's out of season!

Well, Cdn, have you read the Bible?

Escaping from the clutches of the Catholic Cult is a good start, of course!

Tell me, what is it you already believe that you hope God, the Creator of the entire Universe, will "suit"?

                        Re: Curious

I have read from the Bible... I will not tell a lie and say I have read it cover to cover because I haven't.

What is it that I believe... Good question and a hard one to answer.
First off I did not choose to be a Catholic that faith was chosen for me. If I was to buy you a dress that did not fit Jenny would you not search for one that did?

There are several things that I believe in and several that I don't.

I don't feel the need to go to some priest and confess my sins. I feel guilty enough about them as it is and should i ask for forgiveness in prayer so it shall be granted.

I don't believe in taking "commuion" as they call it in the Catholic church. The body and blood of Christ tends to loose its meaning once you eat it every Sunday for 20 years.

I don't belive in worshiping 'idols' or praying to anyone but the Lord and Jesus.

Mary is the 'mother' of Jesus she is not the mother of God.

God is all... he is everything. He is a loving God yet you sould fear his rath.

I do believe in the forgiveness of sins however those sins should be repented or you will go to hell.

The Bible is the word and it should be followed.

My apologies; I did infer that you were male. No, being female is not a crime, provided you know your proper place. Being Canadian might be, though. I have to check what the bible says about that.

JennyD had the misfortune of had Catholic parents too, I believe. Luckily, they suffered a premature death, freeing Jenny from the Mary cult. Perhaps you should ask her about that ordeal sometime.
