Re: Lazytown, pedophilia sex show.
there is no use talking to these people. they are either screwing with you, or clinically retarded because you can never get a straight answer out of them, and everything they say is incorrect for the most part, despite what they think. For example, it is scientifically proven (through fossils and carbon dating) and the earth alone is many billions of years old (over 6 billion).

Re: Mechanix Defends Paganism; Spits on Jesus
Its interesting that you ask how it is that I found proof that paganism is the one truth. Because I've never asserted such a thing. It is a fundamental belief amongst most pagans that all people of faith view the same "divinity", if you will, but in different ways. We (pagans) do not claim to be the one true religion, nor do we claim to know the exact origins of the Universe. We believe that all things are connected and that there are some things that we, as humans, will never be able to understand. Science could prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that The big bang happend, that evolution happened (and is happening) and many other things that many people leave to faith, but it would not shake our beliefs. Why?
Well here's an example. A long time ago, people believed that magnets were magical objects, until magnetism was discovered and explained how it works and why. That does not take away what it does and how it can be used. in fact, it makes it more usefull, as now we understand more of its full potential.
Pagans do not need a religious doctrine to tell us how to live. Certain heritages have been passed along through eons (that's right, we snuck a few past the Christian conquerers.) and sit at the core of many pagan's current beliefs. But the main reason for not having a text is because we consider our "doctirne' to be eternal, and not just something that took place in the past. It evolves with understanding of the world.
So to answer your question, No, I do not believe that Paganism is the only religion(s) that would be supported by the rational world. Nor do I believe that everyone should believe as I do. However, my beliefs do not need to justify themselves agains what thousands of years of studying human and global history have learned and discovered to be accepted as truth.

Friend, I'm sorry, but now you are really dodging the questions.Originally posted by Mechanix View PostI'm wondering. (This is not meant to be criticism). How is it that you come to know that the book you're reading out of is the definitive, absolute truth? Most religions claim the same thing, that theirs is the one true word of God.
And the rational world, upon learning what exactly I believe in, tends to acknowledge that my views on divinity make sense. While they may not agree with them, most people are open to the idea of a religion that exists in the here and now, not based on a scripture written a millennium ago. It is a faith that cannot be proven wrong by science, as the most important aspect of my faith is the quest for learning.
How could evolution exist before the birth of Darwin? Charles Darwin did not invent evolution, he merely discovered the possibility of it. It is not a certain fact, and I do not claim that it is. I’m open to the possibility of whatever may be discovered next. Science is not an invention of man, but rather a mechanism of man do learn about the world around him.
I am extremely open to change and do not hold the diluted notion that science is infallible, and that every discovery has been 100% correct.
Anyway, I know that you can explain anything by saying “its in the Bible” but I return to my original question, How can you come to know that the Bible is the one absolute truth when most religions claim the same thing??
What proof did you find in the rational world thatPaganinniPaganism is the only religion that is supported by it?
Back in my unsaved days - when I was still an atheist (sorry Baby Jesus
) - I would have called you a namby pamby dunno-wut-I-believe-exactly superstitious fluffy Stonehenge worshipping, erm, something.
Me, I have chosen to turn my back on that so called "rational world". They can have their logic and stick it up their pooper. I chose to follow FAITH. Faith in the only True God.
FAITH and the rational world have nothing to do with each other.

I do not have alzheimers. I just find it a bit blind to believe that a book is correct because that very same book says it is.
I can write a book that says its the absolute truth in it too, that doesn't make it a fact. And your entire basis on why the Qua'ran is incorrect is just a racist remark? You do know that Christ was born in Bethlehem, right? If he was white, he was the only person who was.

Anyhoo, what makes pagans right? They don't even have a book.

I'm simply trying to learn about your culture. So let me see if I have this correctly. You believe that God is the one true God and that the Bible is 100% correct based soley on the fact that it says so in the very same Bible? is that accurate?
I'd like to understand what it is that leads people to choose one infallable doctrine over another. Your version of the Bible says that what is contained wihtin is the only truth. Re: Mechanix Defends Paganism; Spits on Jesus
First off let me ask you, as a pagan, why you have any need to ask as to the authenticity of The Inerrant King James Version of 1611. As far as I am aware, pagans have no book, no authority and make it all up on the hoof.
Nevertheless, The Bible KJV1611 shows us that God speaks to Kings and Great Patriarchs. It is thus no surprise at all that God, knowing that the Catlix would try and outflank Him by producing a Bible which would include such non-authoritative books as “The Apocrypha”, decided that He would, for once and for all time, speak to King James I & IV and give him the True Bible.
God did this and ensured that the very best Scribes were employed to produce His One and Only Book of His Words, which is entirely accurate, inerrant and without fault.
We know that this is what He wanted for we have,
Joh:1:1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
And the Bible ends with
Re:22:18: For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Re:22:19: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
OK, ready to become a True Christian yet?

How could evilution exist before the birth of Darwin.
God = Jesus = his own Son, who died for us (and YOU
). Temporarily.
And I note that "rational world" seems to depend on what you believe in.
True Christians: irrational
Pagans: rational
Sure pal.
You are aware that "the rational world" would find your so called religion ridiculous as well, don't you?

Don't be silly. Christianity started when God created the heavens and the earth. And then he created people. TWICE! You might want to read up on Genesis. GLORY!Originally posted by Mechanix View PostMade up, huh? Care to cite how it is that you came to such a conclusion, Seeing as my beliefs predate Christianity?

"Could have been" is the operative phrase.(a) I don't think it matter a deal what you think. (b) I think that God might have a problem with your chanting mantras about the holiness of broccoli and the mercy of rocks in His House. And I have no problem with praying in a Christian Church, as I believe that my Divinity is the same as yours.
My hopes were that after a period of quiet reflection (say 30 seconds) you might have seen The Truth as Revealed by His Word and abandoned your weird and made-up beliefs.

Somebody here believes that I could have been with Landover in Spirit?? Wow. I thought you guys just all wrote me off as being on the express train to Hell!! See? that's progress! Instead of insulting me (or attempting to) someone actually expressed an interest in the well being of my immortal soul. Point in fact, I was in a church this weekend. One of my wife's friends got married. And I have no problem with praying in a Christian Church, as I believe that my Divinity is the same as yours.
Thanks, Bathfire. I appreciate the sentiment.

I don’t believe you wrote that!
Do you think for one moment that Landover is some sort of social club? Here’s you yapping on whilst your immortal soul is in the deepest peril!
Do you not realize that throughout the weekend you could have been in spiritual contact with Our Lord, and, as the entire congregation of Landover has been communing, then, but for your unreconstructed heresies, you too could have been with Landover in spirit?
