You are right there brother, many US towns are named after UK towns and cities, you don't think they could come up with that many names all by there selves do you, surely???

How about these for original American named towns: Cowpens,Saratoga, Sullivans Island, Kings Mountain, Ticonderoga, Trenton. Methinks you chaps got sent packing from all those locations by an army commanded by a man that had a city named after himself: Washington.

But brother I did not imply you could name your own towns but you must admit , the ones of British origin sound better? We have a washington its near Newcastle and was founded in 1183, did you know that your Washington descended from that village which was known as Wessyngton , So I think we'll claim that one brother if I may be so bold.

Some names were from the native heathens and Mexicans, some the Godly Americans made up. As far a where the Indians came from, I'm not sure. God had a reason for putting them here I'm sure.
