Hello dear, and welcome. I see you are a "party animal." I will party with you when and if you can share where in the Words of the Lord Christ Jesus Himself as recorded in the King James Version Bible that our purpose is to have a good time. Do you think if I wanted to have a good time I would have repurposed my womb to function as a quiver for Jesus' Soldiers (Psalm 127:3-5)? Do you think seeking wool and flax and working with my hands from before the sun comes up just to give my husband meat is my idea of fun? Do you think I delight in considering which fields to buy and plant grape vines by hand and keep up with the cost of various merchandise? Do you think I enjoy working until long after the sun has gone down so I can spin wool? I'm from Iowa dear, I do not fear the snow, but that's not because snow is a "good time" to me. It's more work.

No, I don't do these things for a good time, dear. I do them so my children will call me blessed and my husband praises me just as the Good Lord said they would (Proverbs 31).

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

I hope you don't. Our life has to be an endless sequence of personal suffering to prove to Jesus we are worthy to go to Heaven (Romans 8:17). We have to do this, even though Jesus tells us no one is worthy (Romans 3:10).

Matthew 5:29-30 teaches us it is better to poke your own eyes out than to use your eye for sin. E.g. looking with lust at a beautiful person.

Mark 9:43-48 teaches us it is better to cut off your own hands than to use your hands for sin. E.g. using your computer to search for a beautiful person.

So, "having a good time" will only get you to the eternal fires of Hell. Having a good time is something to do after Jesus finally kills you. Here on earth, our job is sustaining our well-deserved suffering (Job 34:11, Isaiah 3:11).

To most "Christians" The Bible is like a license agreement. They just scroll to the bottom and click "I agree". All those "Christians" will burn in Hell!

Hi — not sure if every "good time" is the same. For example, Jesus descended from David:

..and we celebrate that at Christmas. We might enjoy fresh-baked loaves of bread, bottles of wine, roast lamb, cornmeal fancies, raisins, figs and so on, according to taste. Godly celebration is a type of "party" but not everyone uses the word the same way. Heathens may well confuse Christian celebration with a 96 hour bash where everyone goes doolally, celebrating base appetites by overindulgence, so I avoid the word usually. There is a great example in The Bible.
            .
I Samuel 25:2-4 Nabal ran sheep in Carmel which as you can see is a great environment for sheep. For the ones liking to climb and browse, there that: for the others, there's pasture all nice and level. When his shepherds were there, Nabal had benefitted from David's generosity in feeding them. Later on, at shearing time, David's men were in Carmel; they had a message for Nabal from David, asking him to look after the men while they were there. Nabal told them to go boil their heads and eat that. David decided to annihilate Nabal and his minions but fortunately, Nabal's wife packed an uber-feast and went to see David.

I Samuel 25:18-19, 23-24 Abigail (the wife) was able to dissuade David from slaughtering Nabal – but while she was away, the wretch (Nabal) got busy with a very different type of party. Exactly what was going on is left to our imagination: nothing good, that's sure: anyway, Abigail waited for the steam to die down and her husband's falling back to earth before she told him (the next day) what David had intended. Nabal of course was unimpressed, feeling less like he'd been let off the hook that that something worse was likely to happen. It was. God killed him.

I Samuel 25:37-38, 40-43 As you can see, two very different styles of "party" which is why I avoid the term, also "good time" which can be misconstrued. Nabal's orgy wound up with him dead. For David there was a happy ending: Abigail returned with five damsels and they were married and, because God loved David and wanted the best for him, Ahinoam caught his eye (she's a bit of a late entry here but lived nearby, on the other side of the hill in the photo) so he married her too.

Christians follow David's example, not Nabal's, and Jesus is the exemplar to follow in this respect. Ogres are everywhere, easy to identify from their nauseating example, their parties and the things they do and say, nothing to follow there so I hope their type of "good time" is not what you referred to.

            Welcome to the forum.

I appreciate your efforts to write Ogham (in Pictish?) but as an aspiring follower of Jesus, wouldn't it be better to stick to American? Instead of having a good time, you must remember to hate your immediate family with gusto.

If any man come to me, and
hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

                  You stutter son?
'Good Time Here'???? What the Sam Hill double hockey sticks do you mean?
Worshiping Jesus is not a 'Good Time'. He is not a two bit mary who will show you her womanly bits.
Loving God is work, hard work. This not a game of thrones.
You best be prepared to prostrate yourself on the feet of Our Lord(tm) and proclaim unerring dedication to Him.Only a lifetime of sacrifice is there the slim-est of possibilities that He will recognize your efforts and grant to a place in heaven.
                  Good time indeed!
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
