    Hello to all!

    Hello everyone!

My name's Mrs. McKenzie Richards, I am 20, and married to my longtime sweetheart John-James Richards!

My husband has just allowed me to have access to the internet with his very strict supervision, and I'm still getting the hang of how to use this ol' thang he calls a "computer". I have been permitted to share that am from Jonesville, Louisiana and I attend Lismore Baptist Church right in my hometown with my husband. We are expecting our firstborn son this September and cannot wait to have more God-fearing children!

    My favorite scripture from the Bible is John 1:12-13;
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

This verse humbly reminds us that our love and trust in Jesus is truly up to one's decision to recieve HIM with his or her whole mind, heart, and spirit, rather than just acknowledging that HE exists. Acknowledgement and knowledge are two different thangs after all!

In the fashion of a true southern gal, I grew up knowing and loving the LORD with all my heart, as my Pappy was a Pastor at the very church I go to back when I was a youngin! A life with the LORD is the only life I know, and the only life I wanna know!

I am pleased to make your acquaintance!

Happy to have you here, Mrs. Richards.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Mrs. Richards, congratulations on your excellent, by-the-book introduction post. One question: Why are you wearing a chapel veil? I hate to think that you are a stealth Catholic merely posing as a Baptist.

Good observation, Sister Handmaiden. I should remind Mrs. Richards this is not a Christian parody site where unnamed individuals present themselves as someone, often young women, different than who they are actually. This makes Jesus angry.

Yes. Padre Romeo mentioned mantillas just yesterday in the kebab thread, so I am wary. However, I do not wish to appear unwelcoming. Mrs. Richards is welcome to learn from us but needs a fine church hat.

              Hello.
Unfortunately, my veil is a "hand-me-down" from my bridesmaid's late late late late late grandmother as my cow ate my veil before the wedding. I felt hideous wearing such an egregious thing, but I could not have been without a veil before my wedding, less known I show my hair in such an intimate setting like the house of GOD! I hope that the LORD forgives me for the possibility that I could be mistaken as a Catholic instead of a true-born GOD-Fearin Baptist!

Forgive us our slow welcome. We have recently lost a dear friend Ponce who succumbed to a tropical or African virus after a string of unlikely misfortunes.
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

John's witness is always inspiring. The life Christ expects us to live is not the same as the world would have us carry on. For instance, in Ephesians 5:22 an important principle is provided by God, speaking through Paul, helping us to understand that not all relationships are on an equal footing. Do you see your and your husband's decisions to receive HIM as equivalent? If you could clarify, that would be great! Because, as you mentioned, acknowledgement and knowledge are different.

Thank you for contributing with such a lovely Scripture.

Chapel Veils, also called mantillas, are head coverings traditionally worn by women during Catholic Mass. Growing up in the Mariolatry Cult, we females had to cover our heads in church and often wore chapel veils, which were basically lacy triangles, or silly doilies pinned to our hair.

What? You had to pin them in place so they didn't fall off? Presumably if one did fall off, Redemption would be countermanded. Sounds awful. When the wretches, his brothers, trafficked Joseph (ultimately to an Egyptian) was clothing important? Yes. His overcoat precipitated the whole episode.
                      .
                      Genesis 37:3, 27a; 39:1, 7, 12, 16
Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours. [his brothers freaked out - they said] Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites . . . And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither . . . And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me . . . And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out . . . And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home.

I'm not suggesting the thing was purloined from your head to effect a cunning ploy. The result for Joe, the coat itself, the selling into slavery, the designs of the wife, were clothing based. Sure. Whatever he was wearing in Potiphar's house must have been loosely attached, the mistress of the joint having no trouble removing it it seems, but were her designs equivalent to those of a Romish priest? What happens if the lace triangle drops off? Because if there were no price to pay, what would be the point of wearing it in the first place.

I'm so happy you got out of the cult in time for Salvation and pray that McKenzie's path, not of the will of flesh, persists all the way.

Yep. There was a lot of standing and kneeling, then sitting during the Catholic Mass. Bobby pins kept the headgear from slipping.

Welcome to God's favorite forum, Mrs. McKenzie Richards! How many soldiers did you bear for Jesus? Being 20, I assume at least 5? Only counting boys, of course; girls are irrelevant.

Mrs. Handmaiden, if I remember correctly, didn't Mrs. Johanna whatever-was-her-name wear a mantilla as well in her profile picture?

If you mean Mrs Lytton-Vasey, what she's wearing is a scarf. It could be silk (satin) but there are other fabrics, such as chiffon. Many and varied designs are available, from flowers to geometric to leopards. They are square, not too large and I'm happy to provide some examples.
