      Re: New

I do have a habit of not capitalizing the words at the beginning of each sentence. However, the reason I have come here is to ask a question of the Landover Baptist Church, which is in the general section. I am comfortable with my current religious beliefs, and please, do not reply to that statement with "you shall burn in hell". To you and your beliefs, yes, however, to mine, I do not think so (atleast I hope not haha). I was just curious about a question I had and would be very great full if said question was answered, and we could have a kind and understanding conversation about that topic.

Hi Maxwell! Welcome! I understand you are Christian and think you are fulfilled and that is good. However, you'll be amazed at how much more complete and balanced you will feel after you have read the best book in the world, the JKV1611 Bible. I know a lot of folk who were just like you, they thought they could not be happier and more complete. Every single one has remarked to me and time again how fooled they were. That making the Bible the second best friend in the world (besides God, silly) was the finest thing they did. It has opened their eyes to the real meaning of Christianity. Try it, you'll like it.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

What is the question (I bet the Bible has the answer!!!)?

The question is located here: http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?t=26087

It is rather controversial, but i would like to have, like i said, a modest and polite conversation about the topic.

I do not think I am fulfilled. I am human, and as human desire, I will always strive for more. A better quality of life, a better understanding of those around me, and a better understanding of myself. Perhaps one day I will read the book you have mentioned, and maybe I will accept all that is said in the book, or i might reject parts and accept only what I believe to be true. Sadly, I can not say how the future will play out. But thankyou for your concern and in your trying to help me become a better person and live a happier life.

Sorry to hear that, I should of done a search before posting, however, I am a supporter of marijuana, like I said in my other post, and I have some quotes from scriptures relating to marijuana and how it is a positive thing. If you wish, I will post them and we can discuss them.

Please inform me as to why that is. I have come here looking for some answers since I am not fully informed on topics about the bible and religion, and it appears to me that you all seem to have a good grasp and understanding. So I came here for help.

If you have read, you will know that I am not on the grass. I have never smoked marijuana. I was simply saying i had come across some quotes and it seems that marijuana fits into them well. And i was wondering if there is anything the bible says that is against marijuana. Also for your knowledge, I am not gay, nor do I know anyone who is and smokes marijuana.

Maxwell, a few things. We are devout Christians. We do not pick and choose what parts of the Bible to follow because we like them and do not follow the parts we do not like. If you are a True Christian, you take it all. You professed to not having read the Bible. But then want to use segments to present your case. That is a false discussion.
Just because there is no speed limit sign on a road does not mean you can go as fast as you want. Had you read the entire drivers manual, you'd of discovered there is a maximum speed allowed for unmarked roads.

You need to read and know the ENTIRE Bible before you go off spouting passages.

There is not such thing as a wishy washy Christian. Either you are one or you are a heathen. There is no middle of the road.

And that is the exact reason why I have come here. I discovered passages from the bible reflecting marijuana (also know as cannabis plant) in a positive light. I came here to find out if there was direct proof (by this I mean, if it was written in the bible) that marijuana is evil. I am wondering if it is written saying something along the lines "smoke marijuana and your going to hell". I came here for help trying to understand where marijuana lies within the religious boundaries. Since some passages say that it is good, I want to know if there are others stating that it is bad. So please, since I have a lack of knowledge of the bible, help me understand where marijuana stands in terms of the bible.

We are not here to read the Bible for you. You read it, cover to cover a few times.

Then come back and ask for clarification about passages that seem ambiguous to you. A Pastor will set you straight.

Somehow, you managed to miraculously find the few passages that you managed to manipulate the meaning of to make you think it is good. Funny how you managed not to find any that said it was bad.

Read the ENTIRE KJV1611 Bible cover to cover a few times, then come back.

There is nothing more to discuss. I am off to read the Bible!
