    Arizona

    Hello!

    So who am I?

I am a Game Developer who shall remain anonymous for the time being, I am religious and hope to learn from this forum what kinds of complaints people have about games and possibly address some concerns.

I am not here to change anyone's mind, comment on your belief system, or change anyone's opinion.

    Thank You for having me.

Are you anonymous because you are one of the Satanist creators behind Oblivion and Fallout 3? Is that why you've come to mock us?

        Welcome Arizona.
Can I assume by you not mentioning your religious affiliation that it too, will remain a secret and is not Christian?

Hopefully, with our input, perhaps the gaming industry can 'de-demonize' things.

Please check this thread regularly as you may consider it your 'home base'.

Hopefully, Rev. Jim will be assigned to you, he is our resident game expert.

I had a Game Boy and a Nintendo 16 once. Now I only play solitarie on the PC.

On a personal note, I too am very interested in computers. I got my master certificate as a DBA from Oracle a ways back and have a slew of Microsoft certifications, C, C#, C++, VB and other useless stuff. I am mostly retired so it has been my 'retirement job'.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Well I was raised catholic and have not officially converted to any other faith.

I study many of them... I suppose you could say I have not really found my path yet. However since this is not the place to discuss what I believe I will leave it at that...

Also I am not one of the developers at Bethesda. I have played both Fallout and Oblivion and have learned a little bit about how their game creation tools work.

One of the ways you can find alot of information on a game and the intent of the developers is by looking up whats called a "Post Mortem" On a game This is documentation done by many developers that reveals their intents, and reflects upon how the game was received by the public. It also includes ideas for the future and lessons learned.

With the information in this kind of documentation you can form better opinions and arguments for and against many games.

I'd be interested in reading Bethesda's "Post Mortum". It simply amazes me how these people can get together and put out such wicked filth intentionally. The more I learn about this game, the more I hate it.

Do they actually publish the PM online? Any place I have ever worked that sort of stuff was kept under 'lock and key'.

                    Re: Arizona

Praise Jesus! In this of disgusting Satanic filth there is an island of Salvation(c)! There is going to be a Christian Game Developer's Conference.

                    http://www.gamedev.net/directory/eve...hod=se&eid=506

The Christian Game Developers Conference is the only gathering with the purpose of encouraging game developers, in both software and traditional mediums, to apply Christian principles to their industry. Some developers are involved in creating games made specifically to glorify God. Others work for secular companies and are Godly influences at their place of employment. But wherever they are, they need encouragement to stand up for morality and truth in an industry that can often be fighting these ideals - and the CGDC is a great place to get that encouragement.
In addition to the inspirational messages, there are also talks and workshops on topics from game design to business marketing to QA processes. At no other conference in the world can you walk out from a message on integrating Christian concepts with games and into a workshop on particle physics, discuss optimizing a website for visibility on search engines, and then hear a debate on interactive storytelling that hinges on the issues of freewill vs. predestination, or find yourself philosophizing late at night with five different Christian game designers from three different countries. And you certainly can't find anything else like it for the price.

I feel that you're falsely representing yourself. You're not really a game developer, are you? Every kid with a joystick in his hands thinks that he can make games better than the people who are already working in the industry. This is just a fantasy, isn't it?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

You really shouldn't assume things, it never gets anyone anything but trouble.
