Hi everyone,
I have been reading this forum for a little while and have had very mixed feelings towards what people say and the manner in which they say it. I am quite efficient with my spelling and grammar as many people seem to have a problem with those who are inadequate. Although I do use Australian English, not many differences except the fact that we use "s" instead of "z" when it comes to spelling some words such as organise (see how I have used an "s" instead of a "z") and we also sometimes put a "u" in some of our words such as colour (do you see how there is a "u" in the word as opposed to leaving it blank) and some other ones such as metre are spelt with the r & e reverses so it looks like it is pronounced MET (as in W-ET) instead of MET (as in MEAT) but don't worry because the ER's are still very much pronounced in the same way. There are also some others like Aluminium (Al-ooo-min-ee-um) and we have some different names for some different items such as a "mobile" phone instead of a "cell" phone and we also call them Buoys (Boys) instead of a (Boo-ey) like they do in North America. They also have these things called cookies in Australia and they are called biscuits in Australia although some people do say Cookie but it's not really used as commonly as they use it in America. I don't think we have sunday school in Australia, it used to be called something else when I went there ages ago but I can't really remember it now. I have never been to North American before because it is a little too expensive for me as I am studying at university.
You might want to make that registration question a little easier as well.
I await your welcomes.
