Re: Hello from an atheist with questions

I had questions. They weren't about your religion. They were about you. Granted, some bible versus did answer my questions, they were done in a hostile way, along with insults thrown in. I insulted no one, yet insults were what I received. Some brought up crack, when I mentioned I can't stand drugs. Words were put in my mouth. You say you take the Bible to a T, I don't see too much wrong with that. I don't have a problem with anything until someone gets hurt.

You all being pro-child abuse and ok with forcing women to marry their rapists when it wasn't their fault, if i do find religion, it certainly would never be one like this.

You know what people say on the news when they hear a child was beaten because they thought/were told their child was gay? They get angry at the parent. Not the child, oh no. The parent. But I really can't make you change. All i can hope for is there's a cop around the next time you beat your child.

here's just a few things to remember, for my side and yours.

    I can't prove there's no God...You can't prove there is a God.
    I can't prove there's no Hell...You can't prove there's a Hell.
    I can't prove there's no Heaven...You can't prove there's a Heaven.

also, i notice there's trademark symbols on Christianity, and copyright symbols on Salvation. You think you trademark and copyright those things? Really. I call bullcrap on that. Also reread the email i was sent when i signed up. Jesus didn't speak English, why would English people be the chosen people, and want good american grammar? That'll be my last question.

Since you like logixc so much I will put it this way:

      1. BIBLE = WORD OF GOD

      2. BIBLE HAS NOT CHANGED

      3. ERGO: THE WORD OF GOD HAS NOT CHANGED (EVEN THOUGH SOCIETY HAS)

Can I make it any plainer? The only reason that we don't enforce the punishments now is that the BIBLE tells us to obey the secular laws of men. That is why you see so many of us trying to change teh secular laws of men like how we try to outlaw abortion, increase the use fo capital punishment, and, hopefully one day, bring back biblical law.

How is this hateful? We love you and all humans and we just want to do what GOD told us to do so that you might be saved. PLEASE... you are going to go to Hell and I don't want you to. You won't like it there.
But you can't prove to me there is a Hell. Once I have seen proof, such as God standing next to me, or photos from Hell, I'll believe.

But I will tell you, the laws today will not change. Studies are made, before laws. You know why tehre's laws against child abuse? because one, they could die. that's murder, also against the law. two, it causes mental, and emotional damage, making them dangerous as adults. Can you kinda see why that law is there?

I'm glad you at least say you love all humans. You're the first one i've seen say that. You say christians have a drive to do what god has told you to do, which isn't a bad thing. I get insulted even though I say it's wonderful if religion works for you.

But punishments in the bible is out of date, i think. the positive teachings from the bible, those are great. But really, why do the people here want to stone their children over things? why do they beat them? when your child thinks they can tell you anything, and then you hit them, what do you think that does to them, emotionally and mentally? this is definitely the thing i'm hung up most on, how you think it's ok to hit your children...

Actually, you can. It's exactly 50 shekels of silver.

No, I would be stoned for being a sodomite.

And that's all going to change once God's law is made supreme again!
You would be stoned, even if you didn't want it? How is that fair to you? I mean, sure, life's not fair, but your religion shouldn't turn it's back on you for something you didn't want. imagine that, the religion you follow to a T excluding you for something you didn't want.

This religion isn't fair. Women are goods that can be purchased, replaced, and when pregnant, are nothing but dirt, something used to make little soldiers of christ.

If you are a man and get sodomized and don't want it, your religion will turn it's back on you.

Children who think they can openly trust you get beaten.

I can understand that you want to save people. That, on the outside, seems really kind. You want the days of the biblical law back. But I honestly think it will not happen.

Why would I bother? You would simply claim they are fake. You would want proof of my proof.

I used to have to go pick my own branch off the tree for my daddy to hit me with. If it wasn't thick enough, he would go out and pick it for me.

I turned out pretty sane, well adjusted and sober.

Why do you hate children? I have already given you the chapter and verse, but here it is one more time for the learning impaired.

            Proverbs 13:24
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Life is not fair. But you are more or less right about women.

If you are a man and get sodomized and don't want it, your religion will turn it's back on you.
Male, female, if you are raped, there is a reason for it. God wanted you violated.

Children who think they can openly trust you get beaten.
Those are the best kind. A child that runs away is one that is not accepting of God.

Biblical law never left. It is the sheep that are trying to leave the fold.

Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Re: Hello from an atheist with questions

Proof of hell is HERE and HERE and in the Holy Bible!

                Daniel 12:2
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

                Matthew 13:41-42
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

                Matthew 18:8-9
If thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

                Matthew 22:13
Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

                Matthew 25:41, 46
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. ... And these shall go away into everlasting punishment.

                Mark 9:43-48
... into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

                Luke 16:22-24
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

                John 5:28-29
The hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

                2 Thessalonians 1:8-9
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction.

                Revelation 14:10-11
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever.

                Revelation 20:10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

                Revelation 20:14-15
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
                Who Will Jesus Damn?

I am an atheist, yes. I don't believe in any God, or a Satan. (Satanism is a religion. Atheism is an absence of religion. big difference.) But, I do not mind being around religious people, I have friends of all kinds, minus satanists and wiccans, just cause I have never met anyone under either. I'm very happy with myself the way I am. Even though I'm atheist, I was raised by Christian parents. Just some of my likes are sewing, video games, reading articles, and drawing. There's really nothing I don't like, maybe guys who ask me out knowing I'm happily taken, smoking, and drinking.

I was raised believing I do not need plastic surgery or anything, and that I was perfect the way I was made because I was told we are made in His image and that because God is perfect, so am I. I wasn't under heavy religious influence, my parents just always told me what they thought, steering me into my own path. Think of them as my training wheels, They're there on their own, and they helped me learn and go after what I believed. (That goes for more than just religion, though.)

Simply, I am one with open arms. I don't turn down anyone over anything. I make friends with all kinds; other atheists, anyone of any religion, color, race, gender, gays, and straights.

My only thought on religion is, I don't need it. But I respect others, because I know religion is a big part of some lives, and if it gets you through your day, good for you.

But I browsed a bit and I got some questions. I really like learning how other people think. Since Christianity and Atheism are decently opposite, I would like some answers, to understand why you think the way you do, why you believe in what you believe. Because unless I honestly believed too, I could never fully understand, but I just want to be able to at least grasp it around my brain a little bit. I love understanding people different from me. Since this is your forum, maybe you guys can answer.

You say stuff, like gothic people deserved to be raped, yet you got pictures from photoshoots. I can understand if you're uncomfortable with tattoos, piercings, etc., I personally do not like gauged ears, they smell awful and look awful, and never can be revered without surgery. But photoshoots, they were... I guess I'd say they were mostly playing dress-up! And nothing more. Wearing fishnet tights and such, most gothic people don't wear that every day. Infact, I have a gothic friend who goes to Church every sunday. Gothic is not a religion, more like... a lifestyle. There's goths who are jewish, christian, everything. Also, is it fair to you if they think you need to be raped for believing in God? No. No one deserves even a paper cut for being themselves.

I also saw something about "beating the gay out of your child". It was some post on a mother asking if it was right to do that to her son. It made me sad a mother was upset about her own son trusting her enough to tell her something so personal. I know the Bible says something against homosexuality. But you are attracted to what you are attracted to. And going back to me "you are perfect because God made you and God is perfect" excerpt from above, doesn't that make gay men perfect too? Personally, I'm straight, and I'm OK with gay people. They are human just like me. So long as they don't keep asking me out, or anything of that sort, I'm alright. And even if that happens, I only get upset with that persons' ability to not get the hint; not the gay community as a whole.

I think I remember someone telling me God hates those who don't believe in Him. If that was true, would God make nonbelievers, if He only wanted, well, believers? Sure, some kids stray from what their parents want for them, but that doesn't mean their parents stop loving them. Honestly, this paragraph is more on the logical side, and since I'm not God, I can't really say what he would do. All I really know from stereotypes is Christianity hates Logic.

But that brings up probably the only thing about Christianity that bothers me; how you seem to think you know what God would want, what He likes, what He thinks about something. You are not God, stop saying you know what He likes and what He thinks about things.

I think the only question left I can think of is, why do you seem like you feel the need to "save" people? When it looks like, from the outside, you want people more thinking like you. If we all thought the same, the world would really be boring. I understand on things like, wanting truly evil people to, well, not think evil. But wanting everyone thinking the same way? It just sounds so... boring. I guess that's a plus on Christianity though, if I remember right, there's lots of branches. I guess they're called sects? different sects of Christianity. I don't really know any of them, I just know there's more than in any other religion. Thumbs up on the diversity there.

This is an introduction with questions and what i think about some things, and even though I don't think my stay will be too long here, I hope this was at least in the right place. If not, feel free to move it, I don't own this forum. I can at least follow the rules. It would really help me out if Someone could answer a few of these questions, and maybe give some insight.

All I ask if please don't push your religion onto me, you don't want me pushing my absence of it onto you. Please be respectful in all your replies, not to just me, but everyone. I also hope this post doesn't enrage anyone, it wasn't made to do that.
HopscothGirl, I do apologise for the answers you have got from this website. I am a true follower of Jesus Christ, and despite being a complete religious failure, I try to love everyone, as God as requested. God does not hate everyone. No matter what people tell you, Christians are supposed to be loving to everyone. I would accept you as I would accept anyone else. I believe it is not my job to pass judgement. The claims on here about goths getting raped is completely and utterly un-Jesus like. I am completely and utterly saddened by the fact you have got such a horrible reply from so many people.
Just remember that someone who says they are a Christian aren't necessarily a follower of Christ. True followers of Christ are those people who love Jesus, and love everyone in the world. That's what Jesus says. We are a persecuted lot. Sure, there are Christians on the outside, who are basically living normal lives, but the true followers are going out of their way to help people. You've stumbled across something a whole lot deeper than what you see on this website. Being a follower of Christ is about sticking your neck out to save other people, even those who try to kill you. It's a radical movement, not a quick add-on to our lives. Please do not let your judgement be swayed by a group of people from a website who claim that it is right to hate people who aren't believers.

                    Much love, toxic-inferno.

also, i notice there's trademark symbols on Christianity, and copyright symbols on Salvation. You think you trademark and copyright those things? Really. I call bullcrap on that. Also reread the email i was sent when i signed up. Jesus didn't speak English, why would English people be the chosen people, and want good american grammar? That'll be my last question.
You are so right. You're just a step away from finding the truth. Seriously, if you feel religion's not for you, Jesus himself said that he would bless those that were "spiritually rubbish", in other words, those who felt religion wasn't for them.

I am so so so sorry you've had such a terrible experience from this place.

Lots of love to YOU, and also to those who are persecuting you.

Those are the best kind. A child that runs away is one that is not accepting of God.

Biblical law never left. It is the sheep that are trying to leave the fold.
Women are equal with men. We have a brain just like you, we also have hearts, lungs, and stomachs. We need food like you, we need water and bread like you.

"God wanted you violent" oh gee, isn't that nice that the God you believe in wants such things to happen to you.

The sheep that have left the fold have found the grass greener on the other side.

You obviously don't know the first thing about God's Holy Word.

Ps 69:27-28 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness. Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

So it's Christian to wish death upon someone?

Then I'm getting pretty Christian about you. Out of everyone here, you are just the most enraging person I have ever come across. You say you hate trolls but you told me "TL;DR" which is a phrase coined by trolls. You have a trademark symbol by Christianity, as if you own it. You have copyright symbols by the world Salvation. Salvation isn't a "thing" you can own. And it seems Jesus demands good American grammar, even though he didn't speak English. Even to my christian parents you make no sense whatsover! And I read crippled people are unsaved scum? What if you became crippled, huh? What would you do if your religion turned it's back on you?
