    Just be aware that practices in the Bible are looked down upon today. If anybody were to be stoned in modern times, regardless of religion they all would be held accountable. Sometimes the stuff in the bible only applies to ancient times.

          Not to turn this into a debate. Do you both suggest that stoning in modern times is okay? Do you not feel that capital law is not good enough? Given a situation as presented in the Bible where it says you must stone someone, would you?

            I didn't think that up, God did. If God didn't say that those were the rules, I would be horrified at the idea that people should be raped and killed for the simplest transgressions.             Please cite scripture to me that refers to paper cuts. I don't recall any passage that uses such a punishment, but I am open to havign my memory refreshed. most of the punishments are death, rape, slavery, dismemberment, or even genocide...but no paper cuts. I mean, think about it. How would the threat of a paper cut stop someone from raping any hottie they saw?

            Go and look them all up. They are all there and I probably missed a few since I haven't completed my Theocentric Sexuality course yet.

            Once you have read them all, let me know if this is an example of when a document "says something" about a matter. Proclaiming that the Bible "says something" about homosexuality is like saying that On The Origins of Species "says something" about evolution Satan!

              We have to follow the laws of man, but once Biblical law comes back to America, I will gladly do as the Word requires me to.

                Alright, that did open a few things for me. a few. The bible is thousands of years old, isn't it? Society has changed since then. You can't beat your children. But I don't think a religion should change because of society, but most of these things, beating, stoning, you cannot do these things today.

                If a man lays with another man as he does a woman, that's against God. ok, i get that. But the rape thing... being a woman myself, I can almost understand how a woman feels after being raped. Now if a woman and man unmarried have sex, ok, i can see where christians would be upset, i've known all my life the "sex before marriage" deal. I'm pretty cool with that, and even though i dont know if want to be married, i still want to be with only one man. But rape is something called Non consensual. Whoever is raped (cause men do get raped by women; just not reported as often.) did not WANT the sex. They did not WANT to be with that person, do those things, etc.

                Should they still be punished for something they did not want?

                    It depends on the situation. If it happened in the city and she didn't call for help, then the punishment is death for both. If it's in the countryside and no one could hear her scream, then that rapist has robbed both her father and her husband to be and deserves death.

                    If she wasn't engaged to be married then the rapist has to pay her father and take the damaged goods off of his hands.

                    Her hymen. He broke it, so he has to buy it and support her for all the rest of his days. How could that not be seen as a fitting punishment? The rapist has to listen to her complain and scream at him for the rest of his life. That's some poetic justice there.

                      This is the second time you have mentioned this? Yes, the Bible has stood the test of time even as society has changed. If you are somehow suggesting that suggesting that mere fact that the Bible was delivered to man during the Bronze age (when a wheel-burrow would have been a major engineering feat) that this somehow means that it is out of date, then you just haven't been listening.

                      Since you like logixc so much I will put it this way:

                      Can I make it any plainer? The only reason that we don't enforce the punishments now is that the BIBLE tells us to obey the secular laws of men. That is why you see so many of us trying to change teh secular laws of men like how we try to outlaw abortion, increase the use fo capital punishment, and, hopefully one day, bring back biblical law.

                      How is this hateful? We love you and all humans and we just want to do what GOD told us to do so that you might be saved. PLEASE... you are going to go to Hell and I don't want you to. You won't like it there.

                            Yes, I have no children. Because I'm still a virgin, and I haven't had sex yet. But I've babysitted children before, and I love kids.

                            Legally, any harm done to a child calls for law enforcement. Sure, embarrasment keeps them in line, and if they need to calm down in public, pulled them over to the side, snapping that them VERBALLY, or keeping ahold of their hand is fine. pulling out the belt in public is not okay, i don't care what your religion says.

                              Of course he deserves death. He deserves death just as much as a witch, someone who worships other gods, someone who commits bestiality or a rebellious child.

                                Legally, any harm done to a child calls for law enforcement. Sure, embarrasment keeps them in line, and if they need to calm down in public, pulled them over to the side, snapping that them VERBALLY, or keeping ahold of their hand is fine. pulling out the belt in public is not okay, i don't care what your religion says.
                                It is not illegal to spank your children regardless of where you are. If you call the police for a parent whipping their kid in a store, they would laugh at you and tell you to mind your own business where I live.
                                Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.
