    Hello

As I've seen, you guys don't exactly try to make someone want to be part of your group, but here I am. I grew up Southern Baptist, though, so I know how hateful Christians can be and I've braced myself for it. I don't understand all the name-calling and sarcasm here, and if you can show me in the bible where God wants you to be hateful and push potential Christians away and doesn't want any newcomers, go ahead.

    Anyway, hello.

    Who is hateful?

Friend, there is no such thing as a potential Christian. There are either people the LORD has chosed to be amongst His elect, and then there's those who He's sending to Hell.

    Which are you?

Romans 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

Think back to John 3:16... now think a little further to John 3:18.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

    ALREADY...

Are you condemned already, or are you saved already?

Where does the word potential come in?

Sorry. No results found for "potential" in Keyword Search.

      Re: Hello

And the Bible is quite clear in its instructions for us to rebuke and avoid those whom the LORD finds unworthy:

2nd Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
2nd Corinthians 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
2nd Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2nd Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

2nd John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
2nd John 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
2nd John 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

You are wrong about what you are "pretty sure" about.

Jesus never said not to throw stones, nor to not throw the first stone.

John 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

What else about Jesus are you wrong about?

Neither of us contradicted ourselves, we simply informed you, the ungreatful, transgressing sinner, of what the Bible instructs. I suggest that you either repent, submit 1/10th of your earnings as a tithe and become Saved, or leave this board now and return to your hellish master.

John 8:7 states pretty clearly that only one without sin should cast a stone. Are you putting yourself up on that cross with Christ, saying that you are sinless?

Romans 3:9-10: What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one

Wrong. Jesus never said that only sinless people should cast stones. Jesus said the person without sin should throw the first stone. Then everyone else could throw the stones.

Once we are SAVED, we are pure and sin free in the eyes of the LORD (and may therefore cast the first stone):

1st John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

                    And, if you read the verses immediately following the "cast the first stone" quote, it becomes plain that Jesus withheld the death of the sinner here in order to SAVE them and thus removed their sins;

John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

You are implying that someone there besides Jesus would be without sin, throwing the first stone. No one could throw a stone until a sinless person did, but no person without sin was there that would, so no stones could ever be thrown, because only Jesus had no sin and he's not asshole enough to throw a rock at a hot chick.

ok. so maybe you're clean for half a second once you are saved. Then you are still a human being and will continue to sin. Even Jesus' chosen disciples sinned after being saved. Take Peter denying Christ 3 times in one day. Come on. And yeah, maybe Jesus was like, come on, lady, don't sin any more, but that doesn't mean that she really will.

If you did everything Jesus asked us to do, none of you hypocrites would even be posting on this forum. You'd actually get away from the computer and go out into the world and tell people the Good News about God rather than sitting on the interweb, making God look like the worst thing to happen since the Big Bang.

                          Friend, I disagree with you.

You are claiming that no other person has not sinned, or is NOT guilty of sin.

Brother Zeph gave you some examples of forgiveness (which means that one is no longer under the burden of sin, therefore WITHOUT sin), lets go a little further.

Do you remember the story of how Jesus healed the blind man? The story is in John 9.

John 9:1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.

2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

So the question was asked of Jesus, what caused this mans blindness, was it because of his parents sin, or because of his own sin. Because birth defects are caused by sins of the parents. Blindness and other diseases that become manifest after people are born are brought upon themselves by their own sin (like Helen Keller).

Do you know what Jesus said about the man who was blind?

John 9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

Did you see that, Jesus said that this man was SIN FREE, and also his parents.

This man was born without sin (as were his parents) and born blind for only ONE REASON. So Jesus could one day walk down the street, and see this blind man, and heal him.

Now, it's up to you to either accept that this blind man was born without sin and had never sinned, or for you to reject the Bible (KJV1611) what are you going to do?
