    Finally, a place where I am understood

    Hello
    I just wanted to do the proper thing and introduce myself. My name is Mary (named after the Virgin Mary of course) and I am 19 years old. I currently attend First Baptist Church in Georgia; however, I'm not sure if that is the right fit for me. My father has granted me permission and encouraged me to join this community to further my awareness of the true teachings of God. Because we live in a diverse community, it is difficult to find expertise guidance for our particular lifestyle, which is why I was advised here.

    I hope to get some of my questions I have answered by the insightful and knowledgeable people here. As typical as it might be, my favorite verse is John 3:16 because it always reassures me that God truly loves his children.

          Oh indeed it is a lovely verse! But I prefer to read it in context with the following verses:

          John 3:17-19:
          For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
          He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
          And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

          These verses reassure me that whilst God loves those who believe, He has no truck with those who don't. Praise!

              Unfortunately, I do not have a husband yet. Courtship possibilities are very scarce where I live and my family is very new to approach courtships. Fortunately for me, I have kept my virginity and my first kiss until marriage.

                      One point though: you are already understood. Namely by God.

                      Now it is your turn to understand God. This forum is the only place where God is properly understood. Do not listen to false Christians and their lies. False Christians will tell you that if you don't like something in Scripture, you can just replace it with your own interpretation. You might as well write your own Bible then, jeez

                      Be wary of false Kumbaya Christians who use a highlighter and scissors to read the Bible. God wants us to read the lines, not between the lines. False Christians will go to Hell:
                      Matthew 7:22                       Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
                      Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

                      Asking a Christian to prove God exists is like asking him to prove his phone rings because yours doesn't. Make that call yourself! Dial 0800-get-on-your-knees-and-pray.
