You even admit it is evil, but there are "exceptions to the rule."

The Word Clearly says we should

1 Thess. 5:22
Abstain from all appearance of evil.

We already know the Bible says that nothing good can come from something that is evil. Now, you are being told to abstain from the appearance of it.

God expects you to obey your husband to the letter, just as you obey God to the letter.

It sounds to me like like you are one of those "salad-bar Christians" who ignore the verses they don't like and load up on the ones they do. Jesus hates that.

Hi Amethyst, I am originally from Southern California myself. Which Calvary Chapel do you go to? I was good friends with Pastor Chuck Smith back in the 1960's when he founded the church, but I grew apart from him when I realized he was a wishy-washy false Christian. Calvary Chapels are all about making people feel good instead of trying to Save(r) them. You've made the first step in the right direction by coming here to Landover Baptist Church which can guarantee your Salvation(r) unlike the church you go to now currently.
