My cloest friend is a Roman Catholic, and I almost never complain about his choices. I personally think, as both Christains and Catholics follow the same good, there is no need for fighting.

The fact that they are fighting says a whole lot about the abrahamic religions, really. They all fall under one subheading:
Violent, judgemental and nasty.

Omerta, you've got my point! First of all, Catholics are Christians (as are Protestants and Eastern Orthodox). Second, we can all follow Christ in peace.

Yes, they both suck musically. But my separated Brother Temperance was talking about their personal beliefs. So, out of respect, I stuck to his topic.

If he should choose to join into full communion with the Catholic Church, I would welcome him with open arms! (Classes start in the fall)

That would be the Catholic Church which Christ has established on the Rock of Peter, and "the gates of hell shall not prevail against". But you say they have.

Brother Temperance is a True Christian, and therefore is a Saint. We don't need some homer in a dress to smack us with a stick to be saints -- Jesus confers the title on us by default. And who wants to be canonized by a bunch of fairies who will be in Hell forever?

All followers of Christ and his teachings are saints. Remember "Saint" comes from the Latin word sanctus, meaning holy.

Jesus is God. He isn't some dumb-waiter for prayers

By God here I mean the Father. Jesus is God, as is the Holy Spirit, and Jesus is the way to the Father, and the Holy Spirit proceeds from them both.

His Friends are His Chosen people: True Christians. Find me one verse where He tells us to pray to His "friends". Just one! "Verily I say unto you: if you want to talk to me, talk through my mother"

Well, where are the terms "altar call," "personal Lord and Savior," "sola scriptura," or even "Bible" in the Bible?

Prayer is a sacred form of talking with God. When we pray, we talk with the Alpha and the Omega -- not some "call-girl" in Heaven. To do so would be blasphemous and worthy of God's Wrath!
