    Bit of a belated hello

    Hi, I'm Jack.

In essence, I'm here because I am interested in finding out as much as I can about all religions and why their followers believe what they do. This church seems so very distinct from others that I decided to join the forum and have a poke around.

As such, I'm going to (and already have) sounded pretty confrontational questioning different beliefs, but I simply find it is the best way to try and understand a faith other than joining the religion for a long period of time.

Therefore, I hope you can humour my ignorance and just accept me as someone who will ask what are stupid questions to you.
Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Re: Bit of a belated hello

Humoring ignorance is not something we take a liking to. We like a man who has conviction and is focused. To wallow about in the sea of uncertainty when all you have to do is extend your hand to God is so simple to do. Son., before you ask dumb questions, You need to sit down with the KJV1611 Bible and read it cover to cover. That is what we do. Then we follow it. Every word, just as it is written.

Tell me, why are you religion shopping? I'll let you in on a little secret. You have found the one True Religion(tm) by coming here. How about letting me send a Pastor out your way for a chat?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

It's not shopping, it's primarily just an interest into the history of the religion. That said, the faith and conviction of people here is far above what most members of faiths seem to hold. It seems to me that this should at least inspire a bit more research, as something seems to be "working" to but it as neutrally as I can. As I said before, what I talk about is not popular, but sadly, often the best way to get a clear explanation is to argue for an opposing view, so that the other side lays down their views in a clear, defined manner.

I am aware of the status the KJB holds, but is there anything stopping people who can understand Greek reading the original in the original language? KJV does seem like one of the most pure forms from my limited greek, but is there any reason why the Greek versions should be discouraged?

What history do you need to know? God created Adam and Eve 6000 years ago and they started worshiping him.

Somewhere along the line, a lot of other people started worshiping demons (ie, all non-Christians).

By history, I am referring to how they develop. For example, the original split of the protestant church from the Catholic church had major consequences for European history. And it started because one man finally had the guts to the tell the Catholics they were doing it horribly wrong.

Now, this church hasn't had quite that impact, but the views and beliefs leading to its creation and its influence on others is well worth noting.

You know nothing of history. Baptists were the original Christians. Catholics split off from us.

And Martin Luther is a heretic who is burning in hell.

This church was created by Jesus Christ in 33 AD.

Really? All I've ever heard was that Catholics were the first major church, from which Martin Luther started the Protestant movement with is 95 theses. Similarly, I only thought the baptist movement was about 400-5oo years old, though the practice of baptising adults is obviously "slightly" older. Do you have a source where I could read about this version of the church's history?

You See Jack, the fact that most people only skim the Bible, follow the fun parts is not being religious. The Bible has a first page a last page and many in the middle for a reason. Look at it this way. You by a murder mystery. Do you only read bits and pieces? Do you go to a movie and see the beginning and the end, skipping the middle? Of course not. Well, religion is the same thing. You have to follow all of it to get the true meaning. I am not a Bible Scholar or Pastor, so all I can tell you is you cannot go wrong following every single word in the KJV1611 Bible, with zero deviation. Straight and narrow is the path to True Salvation(c)

Catholicism only showed up CENTURIES after the time of Jesus, and they tried to kill all the True Christians as heretics.
