My name is Stella, and I would like to tell you my salvation story.
My mother was very much into Greek mythology. When I was born, she told everyone that she concieved me with the "great god Zeus" and that I was his daughter. She said that I was going to save the world and create a Utopia for mankind. I believed this for quite a while.
When I was about 2 years-old, my mother met a man named Sam Wilder and married him because she believed that he was sent to us to protect me until I was able to lead mankind to peace. Sam told me later that he was only going with my mother believe for sex.
I was about 12 years-old when I stopped believing that. My mother kept getting commited to a mental institution and then released when the doctors believed she "got better", but then she would stop taking her meds and start with the story again.
Greek mythology was the only thing I was ever raised to believe. I had heard about Christianity, but only from people talking about how "hypocritical" and "bogus" it was. I was so confused, because I knew in my heart that there was something else out there, but I was being told that there wasn't.
That was until I met a man in my high school English class named Alan James Buckley, but most people just called him A.J.
He had come from a broken home where there was a basic belief that God existed, but his family never went to church or even opened the Bible. He told me that he opened that Bible, which was only being used as the family's coffee table decoration at the time, after hearing his parents argue and calling each other horrible, dirty, unGodly names (far too obscene to say here) and found his heart fill with hope and joy, specifically after reading Psalm 22.
A.J. lead me to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and we were married after high school graduation. The following September, I gave birth to twins: Matthew James Buckley and Sarah Elizabeth Buckley.
I have not been in contact with my mother since I graduated, but from what I hear from Sam and the rest of my family, she's still in and out of mental facilities (and out of her mind!) So, until she straighten's up once and for all, she's not allowed anywhere near my children.
Well, I guess that's enough about me and my crazy life.
It's wonderful to meet such a Godly group of believers!
