Dear Landover,
My name is Isabella Rose. I have believed in God and Jesus since I was about 12 years old, yet, due to the confusion of teenaged years, I never fully accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior until about a year ago. A friend of my father, a preacher of a small church, baptised me in January.
I lived in sin all through high school and was drunk regularly during my senior year. It wasn't until after high school that I realized just how bad I needed God in my life. I only paid enough attention in high school to make it through my classes, but not enough to go to college. I became an alcoholic and had turned to protitution in order to pay for more alcohol.
One morning, after having done many "tricks" the night before, I became very ill. But once evening had come, I would feel fine. This continued for about 2 weeks. When I finally went to the doctor to find out if I was pregnant (I was never really that careful) the doctor gave me terrible news: I was barren! The morning sickness I was feeling was due to a simple infection that would clear up on its own.
I became so depressed over this news that I tried to kill myself. I bought dozens of bottles of painkillers and attempted to OD on the pills. I woke up in the hospital a few days later.
I was still very depressed and refused to speak or eat anything. Then, one night, while I was sleeping, I had a very strange dream: I was walking in the most beautiful garden surrounded by lilies and lambs and daisies. Suddenly, I was standing in front of a man dressed in a white robe. Light was blocking his face. I couldn't help but kneel! (I'm getting all teary-eyed just recalling this) Then He said, not in any audible words, more like He was projecting the words straight into my mind,"Do not be frightened or doubtful. You will help and guide those who are lost. You will inspire the people to be faithful. You will bring people to the Word. Will you accept this gift?" I could not help but cry out "Yes! Yes I will!"
I then woke up with tears streaming down my face and my heart lifted like never before. I picked up the Bible and started reading for the first time in many years.
That was about a year ago. Since then, I have been chaste and baptised and have been spreading the Word to everyone I possibly could: at the grocery store, at the mall, at various parks and libraries.
I have also never been drunk since. Who needs A.A. when you have Jesus?
I apologize for making such a long post, I just felt the need to share this with you.
