    That is unfair.

If I were to ask you to prove ToE without referring to peer reviewed journal articles on evolution would YOU think that was fair?

Mox, we call it faith. Just as I have faith that you exist, I have faith that God exists. Tell me, do you have faith in anything or do you doubt anything that you cannot continuously prove with zero error?

By the way, how is freshman year working out for you?

You can prove it. Love is a neurological reaction in your brain, that causes you to care for your loved ones, so that the human race can survive. You love your children even more because they have your genes, and so you want your genes to survive. "The Selfish Gene" by Richard Dawkins is a good read and it explain that behaviour. So the 'love of children' is provable.

That is because, as previously mentioned, love and mercy help preserve the human race, as we do not annihilate each other. Love causes us to create better offspring and strong, lasting communities, while mercy prevents the killing of each other. It is all neurological. So it is provable.

That's your body connecting the certain frequencies from the music your hearing with certain nerves, releasing dopamine. It makes you feel good, which starts emotional reaction like happiness or sadness, depending on what type of music it is.

All knowledge stems from proof. It is through proof that we can acknowledge something as fact, and so gave it the tag of 'knowledge'.
    Observation -> Evidence/Proof -> Knowledge

So my question stands. How can you prove that the bible is correct?(without using the bible itself because that's circular reasoning, and is illogical)

Hi Mox123, welcome to our friendly forums!

I think you might be confusing "knowledge" with "proof." I know, for example, that I love my children, but I cannot prove it. I know that life is better with love and mercy, but again I cannot prove it. I know that certain art and music speaks to my soul, but how can I prove it?

For some people, knowing God is like this. They cannot find the "proof" that would satisfy you, but that doesn't mean it isn't true.

    I hope that helps.

Spiderman comics do not claim Spiderman actually exists. The Bible states God exists. See the difference?

Not at all true. You can go to Midtown NY, the campus at ESU or try to find the Horizon or the Coffee Bean buildings and look for Spider-Man and prove his does not exist.

You can't do so with God so it is obviously different.

Now go to the Introduction Forum, please.

You're answering my question about the bible with the bible. That's circular reasoning and is not logical. Give me some actual proof, other than a quote from a book I'm asking about.

    Because God tells us so.

2nd Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"
Deuteronomy 4:2 "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you."
Revelation 22:18-19 "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
Psalm 12:6-7 "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever."

No go to the introduction thread and introduce yourself, it's the polite thing to do.

You can read more about hell HERE.

Or if you keep it up with the sassy-mouthed, bitchy attitude when addressing your spiritual betters, you can find out all about it for yourself, firsthand.

We follow the KJV 1611 Authorized version. It's been good enough for God for the last 400+ years, I think it's stood the test of time.

These modern (per)versions are just that, perversions. They are written by people who want to make God and Jesus more "politically correct". Where in the Bible does it say to do that?

Oh, and what proof do you have of your claims? My Bible says "eternal fire", "unquenchable fire", etc, I've never met an eternal, unquenchable garbage fire.

Oh and when did the Jews start burning corpses?

How about you actually read the bible instead of repeating some lies you found from the internet.

Sure, there may be some variations about how many times hell is mentioned but when there are 54 hits in the true bible, there are still roughly same number in false ones too. Try doing little bit of research before next time.

Well He certainly doesn't think much of Mormons:
    Proverbs 30
    5
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
