Re: Hello, Friends in Jesus.
Thank you for your supportive thoughts, brother in the Lord. It is indeed heartwarming to read of the efforts of one abandoned by his earthly father to re-establish himself in God's favour by cleaving to the One True Faith ™. Not many persons have overcome the handicap of not being thrashed regularly by a Godly and muscular parent.
For minor infractions by your smaller blessings, may I recommend the old Scottish remedy for sin, the tawse? It is applied to the hand, or if one's aim is less than perfect, the wrist, where its effect is if anything more salutory. It is not to be regarded as a substitute for the rod, but a handy and traditional adjunct. The decadent and liberal schools on the Scottish mainland have abandoned it, like all other forms of Godly coercion, but here on the Isle of Sodd, we preserve its use.
To your excellent "Four D's" I would add a fifth: Discursiveness. In particular, when using that Devil's instrument, the telephone. Although communication with the mainland is thankfully prevented by the Faith Telecommunications Company (plc), there are occasions when the little woman overextends the bounds of her permission to discuss sacred matters with our neighbour, Mrs MacStrapp. Do you have this problem?
