Re: Hi this Eddy, truly malayisan!
But how can you obey His words if you're reading the wrong ones? For example, the KJV uses the word "slave" where the other versions say "servant". There is a HUGE difference between a free citizen making minimum wage, and a piece of property that is legally no different than a cow or pig.
For example, the Bible says that we can if we beat a slave/servant, and they die quickly of the injuries, that's murder, but if they die the next day, it's not.
When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. -Exodus 21:20-21
Now, according to the NIV etc. an owner of a McDonalds can beat a cook, (servant) causing them to die the next day, and get away scot free.
According to the KJV, that's murder: you can only treat slaves that way.
Words mean things. Do you want to risk eternal torture in hell, so you can say "well, I did the important thing, following God's word, whatever the heck those words were...."
