    Hi!

    Hi all,
    My name is Jonathan, and I am a student at Oxford University in England. I grew up in a Christian family at was baptised a few years ago (when I was about 14). My favourite Bible passage is John 15:1-17 - I have loved it from when I truly started to understand the message, and it was the Scripture passage at my baptism service. I help out with the Junior Church at my Church, and I am also a leader in the Christian Union at my University, where we are partway through planning a mission for next term (in October/November - we are nearly at the end of this term, and we have an incredibly long Summer vacation). I am going to Bolivia with a Christian charity this summer, where myself and some friends will be helping with community work, as well as some evangelism in the local communities.

    Hi, Jonathan. I'm glad to have you here with us.

    I am a student at Oxford University in England.
    Hmmm, wasn't that the university that made Richard Dawkins a professor? I hope you're not absorbing all of that liberal nonsense about evolution and rationality and logic that they teach there.

    I grew up in a Christian family at was baptised a few years ago (when I was about 14). My favourite Bible passage is John 15:1-17
    Wonderful! John 15:6 is one of my favorite verses:

    If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

    I love it when Jesus warns the sinners that they're going to burn in Hell!

    I help out with the Junior Church at my Church, and I am also a leader in the Christian Union at my University, where we are partway through planning a mission for next term
    Excellent. Your church does believe in the literal truth of every word of the Bible, right?

    I am going to Bolivia with a Christian charity this summer, where myself and some friends will be helping with community work, as well as some evangelism in the local communities.
    What a beautiful expression of Christian love! Remember when you're there that those people are savages, so you have to treat them with a firm hand. They need to come to Jesus first, then you dig the well or give them the food or the eyeglasses. Otherwise, they'll never be saved. As Jesus asked:

    For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:36

        Hello Jonathan,

        I hope that you find yourself helping many out in Bolivia. Spread Christianity to everyone that you possibly can! Nobody should have to go through life without knowing Jesus Christ.

        Are you married yet, Brother? If you are not, what type of pie would you prefer a women to make you? I'm asking so that we can help locate you a True Christian© woman.

          @James Dewitt:
          Call me Johnny, Jon, Jonathan - whatever you feel most comfortable with - it doesn't really bother me which you use!
          @WWJDnow:
          Yes, I think it is where Dawkins went - fortunately for myself and the many other Christians at Oxford, not all students are ardent atheists, and most tutors and lecturers are tolerant of Christianity and other beliefs, even if they disagree. I also agree with you re: the awesomeness of Jesus' warnings, and this one especially as it's in such a loving passage - ie. yes, sinners will be cast into the eternal flames, but He has given us a wonderful and undeserved chance to repent of our sins and be saved
          @NoelleKohler:
          I am single at the moment - as for pie variety, I'm quite a big fan of a good old traditional apple pie, though I wouldn't say no to most varieties!

              Hello Johnny, welcome to our friendly forum - a place where you can take a well deserved rest from the influence of British homersexurals and peedoophile priests and instead focus on the worship of our Lord, whilst maybe learning from some of the more experienced Christians™ teachings of the Truth™. What Church do you go to?

              You say you go to Oxford university, what do you study? I hope you're not wasting you're time with a wishy-washy joke degree like Physics.

              A woman came up to me the other day, 12/6/2016 and said:
              "But Mr. Winner, if GOD loves everyone then why is there so much suffering in the world?"

              Because GOD doesn't love everyone. Too many people have this absurd idea in their heads that GOD is all loving.
              If he was all loving, then murderers, thieves and homosexuals would be waiting for you in Heaven.

              GOD doesn't open his gate to just anyone. Being a True Christian™ is like a Queue Jump ticket at Disney, we are guaranteed a ride with JESUS.

                        Re: Hi!

                        I go to New Road Baptist Church, a fairly small family Church in the city centre of Oxford (which is right near where I live). I am studying Earth Sciences, which means that every day (during term time anyway) I am learning more about the intricacies of His amazing Creation, and having His awesome power confirmed (though, of course, my tutors and lecturers don't see it like that).
                        We do not stone people, instead we teach by forgiveness and then correction, telling people exactly what they are doing wrong and helping them change it.
                        We cannot stop the Muslim Union meeting at Oxford, though from what I know, we are much bigger than them, and each year we have a week of more intense mission than usual, reaching out to the whole University, and therefore the Muslims with them - and often these talks are actually very popular.
                        Finally, I am in Britain because I was born here, and I am certain that at the moment, and for the next few years at least, God wants me to be in Oxford.

                            Because without His help in getting me here, I wouldn't have been able to get into the University. Also, I spent a lot of time in prayer before applying, working out which University God wanted me at.
