  • Doesn't This Mean That Jesus And God Are Separate?

    Matthew 3:16-17
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

This, to me, sounds like Jesus and God are separate. What are your thoughts?
The man who doesn't fear death obviously hasn't experienced it yet.

CHRISTIAN: Someone who believes Jesus was the Messiah. Just because you believe in Christ doesn't make you Christian. Muslims believe Jesus was the prophet of God, but not the Messiah.

    Incorrect.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Hallelujah. It doesn't get any simpler than that.

It never ceases to amaze me the number of people who get so confused over something so simple.

What he saw was the SPIRIT of God. It was HIS SPIRIT that descended like a Dove and lighted upon HIM.
        Isn't that beautiful?

17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
This was a VOICE FROM HEAVEN.
Don't you hear those voices in your head? I know I do.
Sometimes I talk to myself too.
Of course, occasionally I get asked to leave the Mall but I know that really I am talking with God.

I would like to add one if I may, just to put pay to the silly question.

          John 8:58

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

And for your succinct explanation too Sister Talitha, AMEN.

          There's Jesus here,
Just see what He offers me....
          Down here my sins forgiven,
Up there a home in heaven
Praise God, That's the way for me!!

it is because they have turned their hearts away from God and won't repent. It's in the Holy Scriptures:

2 Corinthians 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail...
Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. (Psalm 11:6)
