Because we cannot say something is bad until we read it. When I heard about Twilight, I read it, and was able to conclude it was a huge pile of trash. If I had not read it, I would be in no position to say it is the worst thing that ever happened to literature. If I claimed such things without my own experience, I would be just blurting out what I heard from others.

Jesus was buried, as is customary to do with dead bodies, for 3 days and 3 nights.Originally posted by NoPancakeMix View PostBut since you insist...
Matthew 12:40
"For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly: so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the Earth."
Numbers 16:32-33
"And THE EARTH OPENED HER MOUTH, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods. They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the Earth closed upon them."
...how's that?
As for the passage you quoted from Numbers, God did not send their houses and other possessions into "hell." The earth opened up and swallowed everything, causing the people to die and their memory to be wiped from the face of the earth (except for what the Bible tells us about them). Their souls were sent to hell.
When a person dies, the physical body stays here in this physical world. The soul never dies. It will either spend eternity with God in heaven, or burn forever in the lake of fire with Satan.
Where will your soul spend eternity, atheist?

Fine, even so, a microwave is not an oven. It is not a 'furnace of fire'. It does not use fire at all. So my answer remains valid. And you shouldn't believe everything that is written. Matthew 13:41-42 "The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."
Matthew 13:50 "And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."
Mark 9:43-44 "And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."
Revelation 14:10 "The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:"
Revelation 20:14-15 "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
I have yet to read a passage in the Bible that says Hell is under the earth.

Re: Should I ignore my talents?
Why would we bother to study the Bible if we didn't take it with the utmost of seriousness?
You need look no further than Brother V's Bible in a year Pastor Peter's Things that the Bible doesn't say, I highly recommend Dr. D's the 10 commandments and their punishments. True Disciple's dissertation on population displacement is highly enlightening. Billy Bob Black's series of the Greatest Smitings of the Bible is great stuff too.

Re: Should I ignore my talents?
Hmmm, I don't understand why you say that. There are 2 possibilities: either you are in fact an atheist like myself that is assuming a satyrical role, as everyone knows, and find my explanation poor and misleading (if this is the case, I'm sorry, I kept it simple and didn't worry much about the scientific details. I might even have said something wrong, but since I assumed I was talking to an ignorant Bible worshipper, I didn't worry much about getting my facts completely straight.) and criticized me in a discrete way, so that you wouldn't ruin your cover, or you are simply an ignorant Christian who dismisses anything scientific as an offense to Jesus. I am somewhat more inclined to the first, though.Originally posted by Billy Bob Jenkins View PostWhen you say things like that, it is no different than if you spit in Jesus' eye.

The energy caused by that particle movement is what warms up the food you put inside the microwave. So as you can see, Hell does not have a microwave.

Latin comes from Europe and has nothing to do with Mexico. I hope you learned something.

Jesus' mother was MARY!! NOT "Maria"!! This would suggest that our Savior was born of a latinoo and not a white, righteous virgin chosen by God! Maria is a pretty name, but please DO NOT suggest that Christ was born of our dark skinned neighbors below the border of this Godly country!

To prove you even care about His precious message recorded for all of mankind in American English, let's start with your favourite scripture?
Yours in Him
