Like I said (and I stand by what I say) many Australian Catlicks are praying to Mary McKillop (do a google if you have not heard of her) so that they can prove a miracle and have her receive a sainthood.

Here at LBC we believe that God is the only one to perform miracles. Not dead Australian women!

I tell you again, no one prays to Mary McKillop. They might pray through her, but not to her. And that is no different from asking your pastor or a church elder to pray for you. We Catholics also believe that only God can perform miracles.

I am originally from Spain, now studying for phd in England. I am interested in comparative religion. I know the Landover church is said to be protestant extremist, but I am catholic. But still I hope we can have constructive conversations about what we believe and maybe we will find we will have more in common than things that separate us!

Hey Levi, you know it is possible to have a Christ-like state of mind, and to sin, and still be one of God's children. Believers can and do sin (see 1 John 1:8; 2:1; 5:16-17). We just do not do the 'sin unto death', and we are not in a state of sin. This is what 1 John 5:18 is about. We are fallible and imperfect, or else we would need guidance from anybody, be he priest, reverend or pastor.

Hi Bobby-Jo, of course God's Word is perfect but we humans are not. We are fallible since sin entered the world. Our worldly desires and lusts mean that we cannot always fully understand the mysteries of God, that is where the church comes into play.

No catholic I have ever met worships more than one god, and that would be heresy in the eyes of the church. We talk to Mary and the saints just as we talk to our family and friends because we know they are alive in Christ.

It's almost funny to read endlessly about how non-Catliks are misinterpreting things. The Infallible Pope is my most favorite of your own "misinterpretations". (Say, whatever happened to purgatory and the sale of indulgences? Those were holy and infallible and inerrant and permanent too, weren't they?) Really, you guys are worse than the Mormons in re-inventing yourselves and spinning it to say it's all consistent...."Move along! Nothing to see here!!!"

But back to the Infallible Popes. Really? How many Popes were mere thugs who purchased or murdered their way into the office for personal profit? How many of them dabbled in murder, war, and torture for political ends? How do you justrify your Infallilble Pope aiding Nazi war criminals escape Germany? Your own current Pope is a former Hitler Youth!

They should read about the lilies of the field more often, before dressing up in the most outlandish outfits surrounded by gold and silver and priceless works of art. They forbid their missionaries in Africa to educate the multiplying starving diseased masses about reducing their numbers, while living in opulence and hoarding untold wealth.
