I never insulted anyone. I am seeking a certain type of fellowship and now realize that won't happen here. Not the "happy bits" but not the fire and brimstone stuff either. I am seeking knowledge that I lost. I also didn't realize that the Pope was the antichrist. Wow you people are something else. And then wonder why people don't listen to you and brush you off as fringe. Like I said above, no wonder less and less people attend church.

Sometimes we come on strong to the sinner because we know what is at stake. Better to be uncomfortable in this world than suffer for eternity. And we don't much hold with 'salad bar' preachers who only talk to their flock about the comforting parts of the Bible. Here at Landover Baptist, we preach the WHOLE BIBLE (KJV). Better you become a TrueChristian than get left unsaved in some modern, liberal church.

Look I'm sorry but this is just not my type of worship. And no I don't just want "salad bar" preachers. I just want someone who can point me in the right direction when I have questions. And trust me I am not liberal and don't believe in collective salvation, manifest destiny, social justice, or any of the like. And I have no problem with a little tough love but to be called "stupid" and a "papal stooge" on the first ever thread I start was ABSOLUTELY not what I was seeking either and a little over the line IMO.

You are lucky it was only "papal stooge". I am new here and if I remember correctly there were three romish stooges. One of the Pastors will no doubt correct me, but I believe they were called the "Trinity Stooges" or some such thing.

Don't know how people think about this but I don't like being "preached" to. I would prefer to worship and fellowship instead of hearing nothing but fire and brimstone most of the time.

I have Christian values and I want to convert as many as possible but I don't want the govt to impose my values or anyone else's onto other citizens.

Oh, you're not going to get on well here at all! I'd have sympathy, but you called yourself a libertarian so I'm sure if you deserve any sympathy the free market will provide.

Yep, your problem is pride. You think you were called stupid, and really, I think an action of yours was referred to as stupid, not you yourself; and you have no sense of humor and take yourself far too seriously.

I read somewhere that one should always take one's work seriously, but never oneself.

We here at LBC take our mission to provide the truth of God's Word very seriously. We, do not, however, think that we as individuals, are above a little joshing. The knee jerk way that you have reacted suggests that your sense of self is very much based on your view of yourself as a smart person. Well, the smart person knows when it is time to learn and change. The smart person also knows which battles are worth enjoining.

Puff yourself up all you want over the fact that you THINK you were called stupid. But try to find room for discernment. There is much to be learned from the Bible, and we would be happy to discuss it with you if you could just get over yourself.

Mr. Macon, I have read all of your posts. I am just a simple Church goer, much like you, though I think I am a little older and that additional age has wizened me some.
The Bible, and God are the best, hands down. Everything you need to know is in the Bible or is spoken by Jesus. You can live your entire life by doing only what the Bible and God says. He really is by your side, guiding your hand, formulating the words in your mouth then the thoughts in your head. You have to do nothing but go for the ride. Very simple.
Brother Levi and Pastor Ezekiel have been trying to open your eyes. They do it with the same love and gentle tenderness in the Bible. There are billions of unsaved souls out there and only a scant lifetime with which to save them before eternity takes over and their fate is permanently cast. So you have to understand, they do not have the time in their lives to gently hold a persons hand and walk them through True Salvation©.
So if you really have read you KJV Bible, have actually listened to the wise Church elders, you know, life is not lollipops and puppy dogs. There are promises you must make. Commitments you must adhere to. If you want to be Saved©, you must agree to the teachings God has laid out in the Bible, word for word, every singe bit of it. If you think God is harsh or cruel, that is too bad. You have no right to question Him, He is your Father and Creator. You abide by His rules while you are living in His house.

So tell me Mr. Macon, are you ready to accept God into your life? Are you prepared for the utter and complete commitment involved? Are you ready to obey Jesus blindly?
