Why your sudden interest in God? What has sparked it? What is it you want from a church community?

I get you don't want fire and brimstone, even though that is precisely what 3/4ths of the Bible is.

I sparked it. I want fellowship. I don't want to be asked for money constantly AND NO I am not accusing this board of that at all. I want to learn. I seek knowledge. I want to be able to pose a question without being ridiculed, accused of being a troll, or just plain chastised which I am finding harder and harder to believe that will happen on this board.

And to say that 3 quarters of the bible is fire and brimstone is just plain inaccurate. I won't pretend to know the bible word for word but I don't get that at all. Maybe most of the old testament but not the new. You guys just need to learn different strategies to preach the gospel. Just cause you learned it that way doesn't mean it will work on everyone the same. Adjust and adapt. Everyone is different.

That was very cruel. While some may have a problem with it. I was posting a personal email to gain confidence of the board. And I am far from stupid. I don't have time to go through the entire Bible with you right now, but you should study Brother V's Bible in a Year.

You'll just have to read it yourself. You should check out Billy Bob Black's series of the Greatest Smitings of the Bible.

I won't pretend to know the bible word for word but I don't get that at all. Maybe most of the old testament but not the new.

There is plenty of smiting in the New Testament. Let's start with Romans 1.

28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

I have already shown you how the Bible teaches to preach in the New Testament, rebuking, reproving and exhorting. Rebuking sinners publicly.

Friend, I very rarely preach from the Old Testament to overcome this objection. I suggest you read the scriptures I already quoted.

I would like to summarize this post with a quote from Revelation 19. This is a smiting yet to come for those who refuse to follow His Word.

11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

None of those are very God like. And actually from my understanding God will forgive any sin as long as you confess and ask forgiveness. it is never automatic no matter how little or big the sin. And no matter what you have gotten on this board in the past in no excuse to automatically put me in the troll category and not try to help me. You seem to be under the impression that we should be more concerned with filling our pews rather than telling the truth. Well that's the way of fuzzy bunny churches. We tell the truth about the whole Bible, we don't skip over the uncomfortable parts. If people choose to reject Gods word, well that's their free will, they will have to explain why they ignored the truth on judgment day.

It is incredibly stupid to post your personal email address on an open forum. I've said it to other numbskulls who have done it, and I'll continue to say it in the future. Anyone with an ounce of common sense would realize the dangers of such behavior.

Let me tell you a little story.

Around 5 years ago, an attractive young Christian lady came to our forum. She made a few posts, was agreeable, and clearly sent here by Jesus. She decided to post her personal email address on our forum, thinking it was a safe, Godly forum.

What she (and apparently you) didn't realize, is that our Godly forum is satan's #1 target. We are plagued with innumerable witches, goths, queers, atheists, and other assorted degenerates. It took them about 30 minutes to track her down, kidnap her, roast her alive and eat her heart as an offering to satan.

I blame myself. Ever since that dark day, I have issued an edict forbidding anyone from posting personal information. A few have tried, all have thankfully been saved from the fate that befell that young girl.

In just the same way we want to Save your soul from eternal damnation, we likewise want to save you from making the huge mistake that you nearly made. Jesus used strong language when rebuking, and so do we.

Not quite. The Bible speaks of the unforgivable sin quite often.

And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

I agree it wasn't the smartest thing to do at the time but it could have been done without the epithet.
