    "hello"

My favourite bible verse today is, Job 37:18
"Can you help him to spread the vault of heaven, or temper that mirror of cast metal?"
That's taken from the Jerusalem Bible - referring to mirrors of the period as being made from polished metal - and how reassuring it is to know that the sky is also made from polished metal. Or glass.
Perhaps someone could advise how to incorporate a verse, such as the above, in a signature line or something?
    Thank-you.

Well Praise Jesus it was not verse 20 of that chapter that was your favourite. How would you explain being swallowed up?

By the way. Where (as in what country) are you? How old are you? How many little soldiers for Christ have you produced? What church do you go to? How/where did you find Jesus?
      2 Chronicles 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land Australia.

Thanks for that tip. I can't see a little red cross at the top of the page, so perhaps it is on the "profile" page; I'll try updating there .. ..

Sounds good to me. Accept advice from unsaved trash that also does not have a signature line themself. Yep. Click on that little red cross that you fail to see. Uh huh! Yep? I hope you find what you are looking for. [/sarcasm]

Welcome to God's Only Forum. Please pay no attention to instructions given you by Knight of Nothing. Like another shady character around here, Dingleberry or something, he is turning out to be a disappointment best avoided.

Before getting into the how-to-quote business, we'd sure like to know about you. Where are you from? What church do you go to? How did you find baby Jesus in your own life?

            Please tell us more.

              Good advice landoverlover.

You are able to add your picture but cannot add a signature. Try looking harder.

Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Genesis 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.

OK - I've tried a slight edit to add a signature (and yes, I did notice that little detail you mentioned!)
In pondering your question and kind reference to those following two verses in Job, I was reminded of a reference in I Kings 16:33
"and Ahab made a grove…" which I understand refers to the alien practice of erecting sacred poles for some unexplained reason; and again in Jeremiah 7:10
"come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations" I fear that all this is leading to some experience very like "being swallowed".
I can't remember all the other questions you asked, but I live in Australia and apologise for a slow(ish) response: I'm still trying to get the hang of the profile page, lighting a fire, making tea.. I'll post this now and check both the updated signature and your further questions.
                  ..and thanks for the welcome

                      Re: "hello"

The response here has been warm and I’m pleasantly surprised that those of you who have replied with gentle concern for my story have not judged me - as so many have in the past - from any appearance to the contrary.
Yes, James, I have been touched today. In the past it may be that evil sought me out, and its touch is one I recognise at once however well disguised. Now I realise that many who came to me were disguised, artful in the ways of Satan their father and persuading me with untruths
“…he is a liar, and the father of it” JOHN 8:44
The words reaching me through Landover Baptist have shown me that there is another way. They killed Jesus. Perhaps they will kill me. But jesus did not turn away, and now I can see that neither should I turn away. Does that help you to understand where I’ve come from, landoverlover?
Thanks for those hints re. the signature-line quote by the way; it’s working now.
Oh yes, James - weakness often seduces me through what I’ve seen, backsliding is that? but (as you’d noticed) my eyes no longer offend me. Imagine my surprise then, when God’s gift of fragrance so suddenly blossomed in me!
I didn’t need sight then, to recognise what Satan would thrust before me! Revelation 17:4 tells me that it was not precious stones and pearls sent to lure me in my weakness, but also tells me in chapter 18 verse 4 that there is
“another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out’”.
One of Landover Baptist’s children's stories I read recently afforded a thoughtful moment in its depiction of The Pit Of Hell when it quoted Mark 9:43-47.
My nose no longer offends me.
So was it Satan who defiled me? Perhaps. But now, I know that I am as I should be. Genesis 3:1
Lisa H was an encouragement. I have examined more closely the recent posts, and could mention that I live in a forest region where there is no church. I do not work here but in England, as a musician. Is that the sort of thing that I should include?
I think that’s about it for now - there is washing, scrubbing, dishes, wood-chopping, chainsaw maintenance & cooking calling now, but I’m not going away and will check the board as I go.
(I’ve just noticed some more replies, so for any suggestion not addressed in this post, my apologies - I’m not ignoring you, and will update presently).

Thank-you for those encouraging words, perhaps more strengthening, in my shame, than you know. Of course I do particularly value guidance from a Pastor, and my early steps may falter. To answer your question I am drawn to a verse in John chapter 4 "The woman answered and said, I have no husband" verse 17a
You may glean the nature of my shame, but I believe you will be there to pick me up and so step forward in hope.
Thanks, too, to Sister Mary Maria for your greeting.
