Deuteronomy 13:6-10
If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

The child would also be disobedient and deserving of the same punishment:

"If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:

Secular law(for the time being) precludes the shower of stones that the snot-nosed sass mouth deserves. But had any of my sons not accepted Christ and baptism by 13, they would have gotten a quick kick in the behind and shunned from the Porter home for good.

What age are we talking, because if he's under 18, he's still under our rules and I'm sure his father would have quite a bit to say to him about it. If he's over 18, he can conform or leave.

Of course, it would break my heart. I would spend the rest of my life wondering how I went wrong, was I too tough? Not tough enough? Why would he turn his back on Jesus? I would also spend as much time and effort as I could to get him back into the fold, as I have seen teenagers that have broken away from the church for a few years, only to return very repentant once they found out how bad secular life really was.

SURA 2.
190. And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits.

Ignore all the hateful advice. Torah law applies only to the Jews and even we realize that killing your own child is wrong under any circumstance. Those were different and difficult times as man was just learning of YHWH.

Love your child, try to explain why Judaism is the only valid religion as it predates these other inventions. If they don't agree, so be it. But treasure the ones that will take care of you in old age.

Well, who do you love more, your child or Jehovah? Surely, if you love the ALMIGHTY GOD, you will either shun your child, or kill him, if he cannot be made to see the error in his ways.

Thank you for your pragmatic views on why we shouldn't alienate somebody who is bound for Hell when they can be sending us a part of their paycheck every month.

The suggestion that they follow joodaism and get themselves damned for eternity was a nice touch too.

Ya know, I've never actually read the Quran, with the exception of a few scattered verses here and there on the internet. It's not easily found in bookstores and libraries (at least where I live).
In fact, I don't really know a whole lot about islam in general, except for what I see in the media, and I don't really trust the media too much.
I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Oh well...

What a bizarre question.

If a child of mine decided he wanted to mock God, would I let him? As Sister BIG has pointed out, that would depend on his age. If under 18, he would attend church whether he liked it or not, he would study the Bible, and he would sing God's praises, in the hopes he would outgrow a rebellious phase.

If over 18, he would move from my home until he got right with God. I would remain in contact in the hopes that he would eventually come back to Jesus.

Would I consider him "scum that will go to Hell"? What I consider him isn't relevant. What God considers him is what matters. God dictates that the only way to Heaven is through Jesus.

Let me put it in a simple format for you: Atheist, a Muslim, a Buddhist, a secular humanist, a Unitarian, a Mormon, a liberal "I only listen to the parts of the Bible I like, the rest is 'metaphorical'! " false Christian, and a Hindu all walk into a bar. The Muslim blows it up, killing everyone! Each and every one of them, at Judgment, will be cast into unending torment in God's Lake of Fire.

Sorry, I realize that's not much of a punchline in the traditional sense, but it does pack a wallop.

Would I want my child to suffer that fate? NO! What kind of human parent would hate his child so much? That is beyond the capacity of human emotion, I believe.

ONLY GOD is capable of hating those who refuse to worship Him SO MUCH that He will resurrect them from the dead so He may torture them forever.

Me? I would do anything in my power to help my child find his way back to Jesus.
