    Welcome Jacob,

We believe in God and follow the King James Bible. You would be best to read the many threads on here to get a better understanding.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Genesis 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Song of Solomon 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.

      Hi Jacob.

We believe everything in the Bible, not just the happy parts. We're not like false christians that decide what parts of the Bible they want to follow, we realize that every part is important.

What about you? What do you believe?
"Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him." Matthew 21:31-32

Re: Tell me what you believe!

        Lisa,
Thank you for responding to my thread! I have looked around at the many posts and different subject matter on this forum and i have one question that is kind of eating at me.
I'm confused by all the hatred i read being directed at people who may not believe the exact same things as members of your church do. The understanding i have of Jesus Chirst and the Bible is that while God can be very wrathful and vengeful, he can also be very loving. Jesus himself helped the poor, the down-trodden, spent his time with prostitutes, and other degenerates. But he never once though abandoned anyone. Those who don't agree with God are not enternally damned. They can still achieve salvation. So why is it that members of your church seem to be so put off by anyone who has a different viewpoint? wouldn't it make more sense to be more interested in educating and trying to encourage people to come to your faith instead of pushing non believers away with such an unnecessary ferocity?
Like i said earlier, i mean no disrespect to anyone.

Re: Tell me what you believe!

          Lycia,
I find myself being confused about religion. I used to have a personal relationship with God, but throughout my childhood i stopped practicing my faith. I still believe in a high power and i believe that if i am kind and of good intentions that i will not be completely forgotten. I am very comfortable with my life. I love my friends, my family, this country, this whole world. I try and project a message of love to everyone and to reject hate in all forms.

            Jacob,

Please ensure you read the Bible fully. There are many things people do not read in the Bible and do not understand. We only try and help people find salvation, but is they who must find it. People who get turned away (as you put it) are not really here to seek the Lord, but come here to mock in what we believe.

Here is where i have a different viewpont. I am constantly seeking God in anyway i can, but even though we do not hold the same beliefs, i am not here to mock you or anyone. I feel that some people on here can be too quick to pass judgment and reject anything that does not come from a member of your church. I don't see the logic in it.

Frankly, this is not a getting to know US thread, it is a getting to know YOU thread. We as True Christians do not have to explain ourselves to you.
As such tell us more about you. It's obvious that Jesus brought you here and that is all I need to know. Perhaps if you have any further questions as to that why, ask Him!

IF you want to know what we are all about, I suggest you read the KJV1611 in its entirety. After doing so, I am sure you will NOT need an "overview" to satisfy your curiosity, little man.

What other people do is not really important, it is what you do to find the Lord. Some people will never find the Lord because the do not want to hear.

Think about this. How would you feel if someone came to your home and started arguing with you, saying you were wrong and would not listen to you.

There is no "standard" Bible (although there is one right Bible). The KJV Bible is the one that we follow because it is the only correct one. Pastor Ezekiel has a great sermon on the topic here. Finally, if you truly cannot afford a physical copy of the KJV Bible (although I saw them for sale in a Dollar Store near me, to each their own), you can find one online here.

Now why don't you tell us a little bit more about yourself? What caused you to turn away from God? Were you a catlick? What kind of horrifying sins do you commit on a daily basis?

You make an interesting point. But isn't it better to engage in an exchange of ideas and beliefs to better everyone? instead of preaching "God hates (fill in the blank)" shouldn't you be spreading a message of love and acceptance under God for everyone regardless of skin color of background?

a catlick? not sure what that means..
I didn't commit any mortifying sins or kill babies or anything bad at all. I just couldn't maintain a connection with him. I never really felt like he was there, when ever i would pray or go to church, god was never really with me. and overtime from 15-17 i just stopped talking to him all together. I didn't commit grievous sins. I had a couple beers, went to some parties, had girlfriends, had sex. But these were all things that just came with growing up as a kid. I'm not ashamed of anything that i have done, and i don't think God is either. I feel that God understands that we will all sin, that's why we are human. God trusts us to be as godly as we can be, for me that means caring for my family, friends and community. Being the best person i can be and trying to lead a life of love and forgiveness.
