First, let me say that I am glad a bastion like this exists on the internet, because the internet is the darkest of places most needing of God's light. How can we ever reach these people when as soon as they leave our company they return how and set aside the tracts we have given them to dig up some illicit filth?
I do not currently attending a church because all the churches in my area appear to be making worldly compromises. I may have to resort to founding my own if I cannot find one that adheres to the full truth. I initially attempt to host some prayer meetings/Bible studies in my home but generated no interest. That made me realize the battle won't come to me and I spend most Sundays witnessing to people or in fasting and prayer.
I grew up in a Christian home and so it is hard for me to pin down exactly when I accepted Christ "officially", as I recall it was when I was seven during my church's holding of a Vacation Bible School (I am saddened that I do not see more of these advertised in my community).
My favorite verses:
"Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts." -- Isaiah 6:5
If only everyone would have Isaiah's humble discernment and repentance!
"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." -- Matthew 10:30
I always use this verse against those compromisers who think we must make peace with sinners, let sinners into our congregation without repentance, etc. Naturally, we should be making peace with sinners, but only through conversion. Peace on God's terms, not theirs.
It is unfortunate that so many God-haters use this verse to accuse us of being unjust warmongers.
"And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves." -- Luke 19: 45-46
I like how this shows Christ was not the pushover many think that He was. How many dens of thieves have false Christians created in our world today?
Anyways, I look forward to having righteous fellowship with you all.
