Devon, It's apparent you would like to lead a Christian lifestyle, that's good. Please do it in a more nicer manner. I'm sorry if you felt personally attacked by me. Maybe it's time you take out your bible and read it, understand it! Then come back and post.

The English Bible is translated . . . so you will not be following the Word of God to the very last period because words, phrases, meaning, and grammar are frequently altered or lost in translation. Words like 'Love' have several different meanings, certainly in the Greek, I'm not sure about Hebrew, and the English limits the meaning to one when it could be one of many 'types' of love. So how does that even work? I have Romanian friends who are Christian, they go to my church, but they read the Bible in their own language - are they not Christians just because the words, etc. might be altered due to translation?

What about people who cannot read? Or people who have severe learning difficulties or conditions? Can they not be saved? God is ALIVE. He is a living God, and the Word of God is not only the written word, but Jesus. He can speak into hearts and souls, he can reach those who are unreachable. Love is the starting point.

abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Maybe a family member could read it to them then.

I didn't say I knew the Bible better than you. How am I to measure that? I cannot say I know it better than anyone, even people I know, let alone complete strangers on the other side of the world. I'm just asking some questions about your beliefs, as I do not understand some of them.

So you are saying that we read the incorrect Bible, that The Holy KJV161 is not the word of God?

Should we be reading the NIV or the book of Mormom perhaps

You really do not read the Bible do you?
              Leviticus 21:17-23
Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous,Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded,Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken; No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God. He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.Only he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I the LORD do sanctify them.

Retards shall not be admitted either, guess that leaves you out.

Ah yes. The final port of refuge for the unstudied scoundrel. ATTACK THE TRANSLATION!

If that is the case, then how do you know that what you are reading and believe in is true? Maybe the really important stuff is mistranslated or poorly translated too.

Maybe Jesus wasn't born of a virgin. Perhaps he was born of a young lady or maiden.

Maybe John didn't really mean to make Jesus say, "I and the father are one." Maybe he meant they are of one mind or in agreement.

I'm sure if I showed up to your church and started preaching that stuff, I would get laughed out of the place. Don't you think?
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

No, but it is a translated copy - I was just asking questions, not suggesting anything. I can't speak any other languages, so I've never been able to compare, but it's always interested me. What do you think of it being a translation?

What's with the insult? I'm asking questions.

I have to say though, that I have seen two kids with Downs Syndrome and several others with other conditions, saved and they are full of the love of God. How's that if God does not admit 'retards' as you put it?

I believe their hearts are open and God speaks into them, as he can into anyone's heart. But I guess that's not right because I can't back it up with a quote?

Not only have you not backed up what you claim about God with scripture, but you have flat contradicted the scripture Brother James posted. How is it that the stuff you make up about God is more true than what He wrote down in the Bible Himself?
