    Jake's Intro

    Hello everyone,

I'm Jake (Actually Jacob, i'm from Holland, but moving to USA, but just call me Jake). Anyway, i'm new here and it's a pleasure to meet you all.

Just read 'Cranky Old Man' his topic about the Netherlands, and what he said is very recognizable (hence why i'm moving to the USA).

My favorite KJV verse is from Exodus 15 (verse 2) "The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him. "

If you have any questions, fire away!

    - Jake
Deuteronomy 12:28 - "Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God."

What is wrong with daughters. If no-one had daughters then you sons would turn into raging homers.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Genesis 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Song of Solomon 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.

Thank you for your reply. Anyway, what you just said is true,

However, i would rather have sons than daughters. On the other hand, getting a daughter isn't a real problem if she grows up to be a fine christian woman and doesn't cause problems.

Hi Jake! Welcome. What are your views on global warming? Repealing don't ask don't tell? The tea party? Bill Clinton? The Book of Romans? Canada? Original sin? Sarah Palin? Pies? Gender equality? Nuclear weapons? And a trick question for last: Mitt Romney?

Hello! Those are quite some questions . However, here are my answers:

              1) My opinion about so called 'global warming' is that it doesn't exists.
              2) I agree with don't ask don't tell. I mean, what possible use could it have for somebody to tel everyone "hi, i'm a homo"... I mean, straight people don't tell everyone their straight, so why should homo's tell that the're gay.
              3) I first thought that the Tea Party was quite a good thing. However, that opinion changed when i read that they didn't care about Jesus.
              4) Bill Clinton... Do i need to say more...
              5) Don't really have a view about Canada. Never went there, never will go to either.
              6) It was a clever trick of God.
              7) I find Sarah Palin a very respectable woman!
              8) Pies, well i like them if they are made well.
              9) Gender Equality; Well, a man has his duty, and so does a woman.
              10) I think nuclear weapons are necessary in the current world situation. The USA must show it's power!
              11) Mitt Romney is a joke

Sorry! Missed that part, my apologies.
The book of Romans certainly is one of the most important books since it explains, that Salvation is offered through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I find Romans 2:5/6 especially important.

"But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God"

"Who will render to every man according to his deeds"

Those verses are particulary important to me.

Have you been tricked by the Jinn into believing other things?

Here is some Holy Quran verses of one who has been deceived by the Jinn.

                        SURA 27.
                        38. He said: O chiefs! which of you can bring to me her throne before they come to me in submission?
                        39. One audacious among the jinn said: I will bring it to you before you rise up from your place; and most surely I am strong [and] trusty for it.
                        40. One who had the knowledge of the Book said: I will bring it to you in the twinkling of an eye. Then when he saw it settled beside him, he said: This is of the grace of my Lord that He may try me whether I am grateful or ungrateful; and whoever is grateful, he is grateful only for his own soul, and whoever is ungrateful, then surely my Lord is Self-sufficient, Honored.
                        41. He said: Alter her throne for her, we will see whether she follows the right way or is of those who do not go aright.
                        42. So when she came, it was said: Is your throne like this? She said: It is as it were the same, and we were given the knowledge before it, and we were submissive.
                        43. And what she worshipped besides Allah prevented her, surely she was of an unbelieving people.

So you favor works over faith? Like the Catholics?

How then do you interpret Roman 9:11-15?

11(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth 12It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
13As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
14What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
15For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

14What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
15For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
No, not necessarily. Anyway, here are my interpretations of Roman 9:11-15:

                              11) This one is a bit tricky. Anyway, this verse is about children who are not born yet (and haven't formed any 'character') , and neither done good or evil (Moral Agency had not yet commenced), that the purpose of God (is antecedent to the formation of character), according to election might stand(To dispense his favors according to his sovereign will and pleasure), might stand (might be), not of works (Not by anything which they had done either to merit his favor or to forfeit it.), but of him that Calleth (According to the will and purpose of him that chooses to dispense those favors in this manner).

                              12) It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. (The elder one is Esau, which is the oldest son. And that he should subject to the younger brother.)

13)As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. (How it is written that Jacob was prefered over Esau, it isn't clear if Esau was positively hated, or not)

14)What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
(The first part "What shall we say then" is more about what conclusion shall be drawed from the situation. The second part is more an objection to god. "Is god unrighteousness?". However, the third part is about how god's nature is not unrighteousness.

                              15) For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion (For he saith to Moses refers to Exosus 33:19, I will have mercy on whom i will have mercy with tells us, how God will choose himself who he bestows mercy with. And that the lord will have compassion to the people who he deems worthy.)

                              Took a while to write : P

Deuteronomy 12:28 - "Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God."
