    Re: Please pray for..

I have prayed for him, as it is a horrible experience for someone to have to die from cancer. My grandma died on Christmas Eve from Kidney Cancer. People here are going to say, that because of the date of death, that Jesus hated her, but I don't think that's so. I'm praying for you and your grandfather so you, hopefully, don't have to go through what we did.

Did you pray for your grandma?

Unless you don't believe praying helps, isn't the logical conclusion that God wanted her to die in an unpleasant manner? Did you stop to think "what's God trying to tell us" ? Obviously, God was not trying to tell you that your family is A-OK. God was telling you to clean up your act OR ELSE.

Be wary of false Kumbaya Christians who use a highlighter and scissors to read the Bible. God wants us to read the lines, not between the lines. False Christians will go to Hell:
      Matthew 7:22
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Asking a Christian to prove God exists is like asking him to prove his phone rings because yours doesn't. Make that call yourself! Dial 0800-get-on-your-knees-and-pray.

14 And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.
15 And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him.
16 And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them?
        17 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

If he truly believes in God and the power of prayer, he shouldn't trust his fate to secular medicine but to God. He should make things right with God. Now he's just trying to play God himself by deciding that he shouldn't have lung cancer. It's God's decision, not his.
Actually he had no choice in the matter, the doctors just put him on chemotherapy. It's how healthcare works here.

If not, he did something to God. You need to find out what it was. I suggest you just go and ask him. I'm sure he knows what it was. He might not want to tell you, though. But go ask him.
Today was the first day in a while i've seen him and he said he was starting to feel better so maybe he is on the way to being totally better
Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:9

I do believe praying works. And I know that our family isn't okay, and I'm likely to burn in Hell, because I am the only Christian in a long line of Athiests and Agnostics. So, and I can't remember the exact verse or exactly what it says, but doesn't God punish the decendants of those who offend him for up to ten generations? I don't believe anything can save me, because of the ten generation thing. But I hope that Scott and his family do not get punished by being thrown into the lake of fire, which is why I prayed.

And yet you don't get what you ask for. That should be taken as feedback that either praying is futile (as atheists claim) or that there is an issue with God that needs to be resolved.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Matthew 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

As True Christians™, we always get what we ask for from God. Or we work on fixing any errors so that we receive it later on.

You can try to save the future generations. Think of the children, or rather the children of the children of the children... etc.

What do you hope to accomplish by praying? Look at it from God's perspective. Do you honestly believe that He doesn't know all, see all or hear all? If someone doesn't recover from an illness, then that is because God doesn't want that person to recover.

So who are you to tell God to please reconsider because he made an oversight? Do you think God works like American Idol where you call God to vote which candidate gets healed?

You don't know the whole story, so you should ask God what you can do or what other people can do to make God a little less angry with you. Advice: telling God that He's wrong won't make him less angry.

I never said God was wrong, or TELL Him to reconsider and help Scott's grandfather heal, I ASKED Him if He would reconsider because Scott seems like a good man, as does his Grandfather. I ASKED him not to help in the slightest if Scott or his grandfather's grandfather's grandfather has sinned, and anyone in between him and Scott, as per the ten generation thing.

Again, I ask you to look at if from God's perspective:

God: has ALL information on ALL people dating back to before they were born.
Joshua: gathered from an internet forum that some stranger is "nice".

Do you understand that even implying that God made an oversight when you yourself have barely any information whatsoever is a huge insult? You should ask God what you've done wrong or what they've done wrong and then take steps to correct it.

Okay, so you honestly believe that there's a "chance" that God made an oversight and "accidentally" punished people who don't deserve it?
