    Hello

    My dear Christian family.

My name is Gerald. I come from Wales in the United Kingdom and attend St Sharlot Church in a small town of around 500 inhabitants.

I work as a Religious Education teacher in a local school and I am very content in my role, especially now that the disciplinary procedures have been concluded.

I am 26 years of age and have always had the Lord in my life, however it wasn't until very recently that I knew it.

    Re: Hello

I am very sorry my brothers, the infidels in my computer compelled me to post that message before I had concluded it.

I will continue with my story under this post. Please feel free to merge. I have not yet been educated in how to edit my posts in the same way as I have been educated by Jesus in how to edit my life...

      Re: Hello

So the first that I knew of the Lord was one sunny afternoon in June 2008. I was 23 and out of control. I would drink to excess, spend too much time with women and had a host of Christian friends.

That day, out of nowhere, I saw a vision. It was the most beautiful being you have ever seen. I felt like crying, it was that magnificent. Her name was Louise and she was 24. She told me how she went to a local church and was deep into the ways of the Lord. I do not mind saying that the only thing I wanted to be deep into at this time was Louise.

She asked me what my thoughts were on religion. I kept these to myself. I told her that the Lord was the most incredible thing I had heard of (note my lack of education at this time) and that I loved all his work and I loved spreading the word. She asked me what my favourite verse was. I said John, Chapter 1, Verse 2 and hoped that she bought it. She asked me which John and I said "the one from the bible". She laughed but I didn't know why. I thanked the Lord twice that night and once again in the morning.

I did some terrible yet exhilarating things with Louise. There was nothing that she wouldn't do in the name of God. All I had to do was ask. At this stage I had to start reading the bible in order to impress her more and more. We eventually moved in together.

As time started going on and I became interested in the ways of the Lord and saw my bible reading as a positive thing in my life, rather than it being a means to an end, I started seeing Louise as being dirty, untrustworthy and I lost a lot of respect for her. She would leave her fractionally soiled undergarments lying around the flat, would neglect to do her household chores and started to offer opinions on life, politics and other things that did not concern her. It got so bad that I once caught her going out to vote. I did not see her as 'wife material' as they say on some of the dating shows I used to watch during my earlier years (1984 - August 2008 BC). I had, by now, completely stopped consuming alcohol and I was helping out at my local community centre, working with vagrants and the under privileged (never both, however. Some people are beyond redemption.)

I kicked Louise out on Christmas Day 2009 when she bought me an inappropriate pack of playing cards and I have never looked back. I sometimes see her in church group, chatting away to everyone and I pity her. She is living with a chap who adores her and listens to her. He isn't familar with Christ but he has a BMW. She seems happy but I know whats waiting for her after her time on this Earth.

I am now a fully fledged member of my Church and I cannot believe how I used to be. This is only the half of it. I am sure you will hear more of my stories of my BC days as time passes.

So, please accept me into this wonderful forum so I can meet with people who have similar experiences, outlooks and views on life as me.

May the Lord be with you all.

      Gerald.

Hi, Geraldo! Welcome! I'm glad that whore managed to bring you to Jesus.

Tell me, you've spent so much time reading God's Word . . . why are you attending a Catholic cult instead of a Christian church?
        Bible boring? Nonsense!

You can't be a Christian if you don't know God's Word!

          Re: Hello

A cautious welcome, my friend. Your testimony is moving.

I would ask why you attend what would appear to be a franchise of the antichrist in the Vatican? Baptist churches do not "name" themselves after the fraudulent idols the "pope" fancies on any given day.

Have you no Godly churches in the hopelessly bland and barren wasteland you find yourself in?

We will pray that you find Salvation in Jesus Christ in a legitimate Baptist church.

          In Christ.
Matthew 19:14 "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

I am glad you have asked me this question. This has been a great source of embarassment and anger for me and my brothers for generations.

St Sharlot is not a Catholic Saint. If you attended my Church then you would see the disclaimer that we have nailed to the front of it.

St Sharlot would have spat in his face given the chance.

The man who named our church was a notorious drinker and we do not live the same kind of luxury as the thieves that you mention. Therefore, by the time you take into account signage costs and administration fees, alas, we could not afford to change it.

Diolch yn fawr iawn, Lost Sheep. From which land do you hail my Celtic cousin?

Firstly, despite my first few lines on this thread, I do not speak the local throat disease although as God has blessed me with superior intelligence, I do manage to pick up bits and pieces from the local condemnded.

My intimacy with Jesus is something that makes me very proud. Let me give you an example of how I like to spread his word.

I like to get involved in my local community at every opportunity and I like to encourage people to participate in sports and games. I had the chance to go and watch a large sporting event last Saturday with 70,000 other people and decided to use it as a chance to tell them about Jesus.

The event was due to commence at 3pm, however, so anxious was I to mingle with potential sheep, that I made it to the city at around 10:30am in order to give myself as much time to spread the word. I was immediately drawn to the local taverns, as they are frequented by so many of the Hell bound. Not content with conversing with just one lot, I quickly made my way to as many as possible prior to the game.

Afterwards, so many of the weak decided to return home, however myself and two of my Christian friends stayed amongst the masses (although these slowly started to dwindle) in order to spread the word even more. Jesus gave me the strength to keep on going.

With my work in the big city done, I returned to my town. A lesser man would have turned in at this point, however, on a roll, I was determined to further Jesus' name.

My mission took me to such unholy places as a 'Rock' pub and finally to a Devil's Game emporium where the Hellbound play cards and lose their dole money. At this horrible place I met a troubled young lady who I was instantly drawn to. She looked unpure. Sharon (its not her real name - her real name is Julie) looked lost and I started talking to her about the Lord. I started out by making small references to the Bible before completely advising her of the work of the Lord. She loved it and encouraged me to tell her more, which I did.

I was so concerned for this poor girl's welfare that I accompanied her back to her flat where we spent the night getting closer to God. She allowed me to read all my favourite passages from the Bible whilst only reading a few of hers to me. I was delighted to have made such an impact on this girl's life.

As I had embarked on such an epic mission, the girl kindly offered me a bed for the night and like all good Christians I accepted her generous hospitality.

The next morning, I felt exhausted from all the joy and hope I had spread the previous day and so quickly left, my host still sleeping for I did not wish to wake her as she looked so peaceful.

I returned home to my good lady wife and do you know what? She had the cheek to ask me where I had been. Once she had stopped crying and had found the plasters, I gently explained the work I had been undertaking in the name of the Lord and she told me how proud she was and how privileged she felt to cook and clean for me.

Without Jesus in my life, such an amazing and magical night would have been possible. I probably would have been getting drunk and chasing whores, however I was able to have such a more fulfilled experience thanks to Him.

I plan to do the same thing this Saturday. You can wish me all the best of luck but I know that with Jesus by my side, I will not need it.

                  Peace to all Christian men.

                  Your Brother

Brother Gerald, without a doubt that is one of the most uplifting stories I have read on this Introduction forum! I am glad you had the strength that only Jesus provides in order to help you get through the night and to help you weather the storm that your unjustly suspicious wife dealt you.

May God's Glory accompany you on what are hope are many, many more opportunities to spread The Love of Christ!

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement, Mr Smyth. Knowing that others appreciate my work makes the sacrifices so much easier to make.

I am planning on spreading the Love of Christ again this weekend. I have one particular person in mind who I feel would benefit from taking in a Chapter or two of the Good Book and I have been speaking to her over the internet in readiness for our pre-planned meeting.

My unjustly suspicious wife, alas, is not the lady I married. It pains me to say it but God has seen fit to give her an unhealthy interest in cake and biscuits. I have made my feelings on the subject quite clear, yet despite numerous attempts to make her realise the damage it is doing to her, she does not heed my warnings. She does not have the self discipline that I crave from a wife.

Consequently, she is becoming less and less the type of person that I desire to read the Bible with. In fact, these days I prefer to read the Bible alone without her in the room. I still enjoy mutual Bible readings with more of God's sheep but the thought of undertaking such sessions with my glutinous wife turns me sick.

Does anyone have any advice to a Brother in need?

Have you thought about having a Bible reading with your wife but secretly thinking about having a Bible reading with someone else, perhaps Angelina Jolie? You may find that you finish the Bible reading alot quicker. Don't get too carried away and have a premature Bible reading
Genesis 22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

I know God wouldn't let me believe in Him if He didn't exist.

That's a tough one, my friend. Gluttony is indeed counter to good Christian ways, but I don't think you can do anything *ahem* drastic.

Tell you what: in the absence of a pastor's guidance on this sensitive issue, have your wife read Proverbs 23:2 over and over and over (tell her to disregards the gender-specific part).

                          Report back soon!

Thank you both for your kind support. I will bear your wise words in mind.

I will report back if I find any changes, although sometimes she can be quite disobedient so I am not holding out very much hope.
