I'm truly curious about how to smoothly be accepted by all of my friends, Christians included.
I am only a woman, so I can be wrong, but a True Christian lady should only do what her husband tells her, clean and cook, and give birth to children. (and pray and read the KJV Bible ofcourse)
You should continue to read in "Aunti Flo's Prayers Shack for Woman", there it says alot about how a woman should be. The Proverbs is also a good source for how a woman shall act!
    I shall pray for you!

      Re: A new friend!

Ah, okay. And I respect that. If that is your way in your religion that is cool From my point of view, you got to understand that I didn't know any of this. I'll ask some of my christian friends that I go to college with about everyone's take on it and learn more about it. I, however, can't quit College. All my life, I've wanted to explore the seas and discover amazing things.

My only worry is that I hope that being the person that I wish to be doesn't hurt anyone's feelings here, as well as the feeling of my christian friends that I know personally around me.

On the flip-side, I just learned something amazing about your culture and your belief's! It's exciting to learn. Thank you.

        Oh, and @Pure Angel,

Have more confidence in yourself. I've seen you say "I am only a woman" a few times. Our brains aside from the fact that women have more neuron connections between the left and right lobes, are equal in capacity and functionality to a man's brain. We are all human beings. Smile! You can always talk openly with me. I always do my best to be a friend to everyone. I hope you don't mind this advice but I wanted to let you know that your potential is limitless

But it suits the male dominated church that these people belong to, they do not want their women to get "smarts", they do not want them to work out that they are been exploited. They use a collection of fairy tales to justify they actions. Our creator made men and women equal but these people will not accept that, it would mean that they have no justification for their oppression. It makes them feel big, gives them a false sense of superiority.

If any of the women here were to take you up on your offer they would be punished, is some cases extremely violently. One of the very sad things is that once punished the women will believe that they deserved it.

You can't be content raising children and building sand castles with them on the beach? You can't be content cooking the fish your husband brings home after an arduous day in the boat?

You do know that JC Penney's has these digital displays that show pictures of pretty fish in an aquarium, while you are performing your wifely duties cleaning the house and cooking in the kitchen don't you? Why can't you be content with that instead of filling your pretty little head with atheistic ideas like underwater geology?

Is it possible for me to be accepted as a friend regardless of my life path. Underwater geology is far more intriquite and intensive than simply gazing into an aquarium. It's my field of study and I feel that it should be fine for me to persue that, and not be called bad names.

The Olive Garden was created as a temptation to all Pastafarians by claiming that they serve pasta, but in actuality it is not pasta, but some sort of mushy stuff. The bread-sticks are still good though.

See that is what they have a problem with, if you support their women to think and act from themselves these men fear they will be left to cope for themselves, a prospect that terrifies them as they know they would be in great difficulty.

Oh I think if the women of Freehold stopped running round after their menfolk I am sure that in no time a meeting of the pastors would look something like this:

I've spent many hours reading through many threads in this network. I have come to the conclusion that this is not really a place I would enjoy hanging out in. Honestly, scary, is a word I can put to it.

I mean no offense by leaving but I just wanted to let you know that I might come back to read a few things here and there but my presence here could only cause problems and that would be rude of me to do so.

Thank you for understanding and I may be back one day, but I didn't want to be rude and not say a goodbye and just vanish on everyone. If I don't come back, have a wonderful time and thanks for having me as a guest on your forums.

We understand! Many feel unsettled on learning the awful truth of the Word of God; that the LORD GOD is to be feared above all!

Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
                              ~Isaiah 8:12-13
The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.~Joel 1:12
