  • Dear Landover Baptist Church

    Dear Landover Baptist Church,

I am a 3rd year university student residing in Australia. Currently I am undertaking a unit called "Sociology of Religion and it requires me to conduct a field research assignment and report upon a "cyber religion" basically a religion that exists online and analyse it from a sociological view.

I have decided that I wish to do my field research on the Landover Baptist Church. So in that I am creating this thread in hopes to get some responses from the members of this church or even leaders.

    Information I request includes;

    Why was this website created?
What is the point of this website?
What rituals do you participate in on this site?
What things do you discuss on this website?
What are members required to do on this website?
Do you believe an online religion such as this, is as much as a religion as a church is in real life?
What happens when an outsider comes in which causes conflict and controversy within this church?
What conflicts occur within this church in terms of viewpoints?
Is there any demographical data charcterising the members of this church (as in males vs females, age groups, geographical data)?
How does this church view other churches and religions?

I know this is a big request but I would appreciate your help so I could bring the light onto this church and help analyse it from a sociological perspective. I don't need everyone to try and answer everything because I know there is a lot but any information you would be willing to provide would be very helpful.

    Yours sincerely,

    Dear Australian Friend,

First, as a matter of basic human decency, I demand that you apologize for the Ozzie abomination that is THE WIGGLES!

    Yours in Him,

It's been a long time since I was in college but I remember that we had to do a lot of reading to learn our subjects. I know you're from Australia and expecting you to read is a lot to ask, but in this case I think it is going to help you find the answers that you are looking for.

      God bless.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I would like to add, that Nobar's advice is sincere. If you have specific questions about a thread or doctrine, I am sure one of the Pastors will answer you, but the best way to understand us is to read A LOT. Do not jump to conclusions. Note your feelings, and reactions, but give it time.

Additionally, this site is best viewed with a KJV in hand.

Welcome friend, sorry I do not have the time to read that ridiculously long post. How long have you had an abo midget for a wife? Is she able to jettison sons for Jesus? What is the one verse in the KJV that enables you to deal with living in Hell on Earth?

          Have a good Godly Day!

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Christianity is not a "cyber religion". Oprahism is a "cyber religion". Maybe you want to ask your professor if he means a real religion with an online presence, or a made-up "online religion" that doesn't really base itself in God's Truth.

Do you expect us to do your homework for you?

Hey, why not just post the assignment and we can write your term paper!

Or maybe, just maybe, you can read the site and figure it out on your own . . . and contact one of the Pastors with questions not readily answered by reading the forum.
            Bible boring? Nonsense!
Try Bible in a Year with Brother V, or join Shirlee and the kids as they discuss Real Bible Stories!

All of your answers can be found by reading the posts on the site (except for the ones by Unsaved Trash and banned members, naturally), the Sticky notices at the top of each forum, and the FAQ.

Don't be a slave to your lazy nature.

Welcome Slashed. Why is any website created? So that like-minded individuals can support each other in their common interests. There are billions and billions of Christians in the world, and we are the cream of God's crop.

Welcome and fellowship with us. What is your favorite Bible verse and what do you think is Jesus's best quality?
"Come Unto Me. Put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath." (Matthew 19:14, Job 1:11).

                  Re: Dear Landover Baptist Church

To all that responded in this thread.

Firstly, sure I'll apologise for the Wiggles, they are awful and I'm sure God will deal with them by sending them to hell.

Secondly, I shall read a lot of information on this website but I thought creating a thread myself would be an interactive and proactive may of grouping together some information and first hand opinions of the members themselves. I am not asking you to do my assignment, interview is just one method of gathering information, I still have to analyse that afterwards.

Thirdly, yeah having an abo wife is a nuisance having to lead her around on a leash everywhere it's quite embarassing.

                  Lastly my favourite verse is
For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it. [Matthew 19:12]

The best quality Jesus had was his self sacrifice to save us from our sins.

So again I thank you all for responding and encourage you to respond to my questions, all I can is for help from some experienced members, otherwise I shall just read the site.

                  Yours sincerely,

                  slashed_agenda

I encourage you to do your study and then return here and answer your own questions with the knowledge that you have gained. A senior pastor will let you know whether you are on the right track or not.

Please try to use specific examples.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Then why have an abo wife at all? I got my Polish wife from the Internet. I have no idea what she is talking about all the time, but she looks awesome!
