  • Greetings

So I'm an agnostic trying to find a religion. I've been considering Christianity the most, being in America it's the most reasonable place to start, and was looking for an attempted conversion. I've had a few people try, though they weren't knowledgable on their own religion and couldn't answer any questions.

Start with baby steps. Have you read the Bible cover to cover yet?

1 Timothy 2:13-15 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

You sound like a very smart person.

Mrs. Whitford makes an excellent suggestion. Nothing smarter than to read the instructions first! Then you can do what you need to do.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

What brings you to want to know Christ?

          How old are you?

          Married?

          Kids?

          Work?

Favorite Scripture (you have to have read at least one or two)

We use the KJV, preferably a 1611 version so as to have it uncorrupted by kid touching catalicks.

19Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

I've never understood "trying to find a religion". It's not like a new shirt or a car. You don't find the one that is "right for you".

Every religion claims it is true, and that all others are false. Therefore, only one can actually BE true; by falsely claiming to be true, all the false religions make themselves, by default, false.

Why would you "try to find a religion" instead of seeking Truth?

            Truth -->
            Bible boring? Nonsense!

              Yeah, this isn't Highlander, buddy.

At least you're on the right track; this is America, and as GOD'S chosen nation you are right to assume that Christianity is the proper spiritual route, but be aware that many who call themselves "Christians" are no more than wolves in sheep's clothing, according to Matthew 7:15 -- "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire."

Brushing up on your KJV 1611 will provide you with the necessary insights into your confused spiritual state and allow you more fruitful conversation with the True Christians on this forum.
