Hello everyone,

My user name is "New Creation" and I'm just that in our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen? I browsed the main website for a while, until I found the forum- and even more of the anointed Word.

I'm a God-fearing conservative from Tennessee, right on the buckle of the Bible Belt. I'm a third year analyst with an investment banking firm, married with two sons.

I'm a deacon and board member of an Oak Ridge Baptist Church, the church I was born into and raised in. My dad, who recently went home to be with the Lord, was a deacon as well and I'm proud to fill the position he left.

My favorite scripture is 2 John 1:9-11

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

And I believe in Jesus Christ because he's the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father but through him. You, of all people, should know that.

How is he supposed to know why you believe in Jesus?

You could just as easily be believing in Him because of what you had for breakfast.

I meant the part about no one coming to the Father but by Jesus. He, being an ex-Jew, knows about that.

No, Jo. My church is founded on the principles of the Bible. Perhaps you've heard of it? I spoke to the Pastor about becoming a deacon soon after my father went on to be with Jesus, and he gave the okay at the next board meeting which I, as a board member, had no influence on of course.

Yes I have hard of that collection of fairy tales, and I know of the detrimental effect it has had on so many peoples lives!

Do you mean strictly related by blood, or do you want me to include the ones related by marriage as well? While I'm at it, why don't I disclose my tax information and campaign donation history to you as well?

Well sure. I'm not related to any of the people in charge of washing the dishes after the big dinners in the Fellowship Hall. I'm not related to the guy in charge of mowing the grass on Thursdays. And I'm certainly not related to the guy in charge of maintaining the church van.

I would have thought that was not too much of an intellectual exercise for you to work out, but it clearly was, OK we shall have a look at Matthew 27:50-53
If it is a fairy tale those event would just happen in the book.
If it were real some one would have noticed and written something about it, but there is NOTHING in the historical record, a major earthquake and an army of Zombies and no mention of it outside of the collection of fairy tales!

Wrong. Not only is the Bible inerrant, and therefore accurate historical record in and of itself, the Jewish general Flavius Josephus mentions the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in his Antiquities of the Jews, Book 18, Chapter 3.

Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man; for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure, He drew over to him both many of the Jews and many of the Gentiles. Now admit you were wrong. If you don't, it's proof that you are hard-hearted against God and that your atheism is a flimsy sham without a foundation other than your hatred of God.

I said no such thing and I would appreciate it if you cease your baseless accusations. I am a deacon because I met the Biblical qualifications of a deacon, and felt called by God to take the role upon myself.
