Nowhere does the Bible say not to worship Mary. Oh wait, I just remembered, the Bible does say that.

Luke 4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Get thee behind me, papist scum.

What's the point of writing such weak argumentations?
      Common sense is dead already?

The worship of Saints and of Mary is obviously connected to God.

To pray Mary or the Saints is only an undirect to worship God, as He touched them with his Grace.

Therefore it means that you worship ONLY God.

As i said: it's pointless to quote the bible step to step and literally, as science would, but has to be interpreted.
God's Word is not so easy to understand. And easy interpretations aren't always the right ones.

Apparently you are a retarded and I am saddened by your affliction. Especially when you vomit your retardedness all over our Godly forum.

You are a Christian, but believe the Bible should not be interpreted literally? I do not understand you. How do you decide what is literal and what is not? Do you use your own very fallible judgement and decide to follow what you agree with and disregard what you don't agree with? And you call yourself a Christian?

The Word of God is timeless and clear. Follow it, all of it, or don't follow it. All or nothing.. Follow it and go to Heaven, don't and burn in Hell for all eternity while I smile at your torment. The choice is yours little boy.

It is known from Saint Augustine times that the Bible has to be approached and read not literally.

And whenever i sin, i'll ask for forgiveness to Christ only while confessing.
If you don't take all of the Bible literally how do you know which bits to take literally and which bits not to?

Do you take the virgin birth literally and if so why? How do you know it's not one of the bits you can drop?

I find it pathetic. If a person thinks that they can omit parts of the Bible willy-nilly because it doesn't fit their "worldview" they might as well just toss the whole thing!

In some strange way I can actually respect atheists. At least they have the guts to make a decision (the wrong one). To just fit God into your world view is intellectual cowardice. I think that 90% of today's so called Christians are cowards. Stand up for God or don't, that's the choice.

Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

I see. So when Augustine of Hippo says,

not infrequently happens that something about the earth, about the sky, about other elements of this world, about the motion and rotation or even the magnitude and distances of the stars, about definite eclipses of the sun and moon, about the passage of years and seasons, about the nature of animals, of fruits, of stones, and of other such things, may be known with the greatest certainty by reasoning or by experience, even by one who is not a Christian. It is too disgraceful and ruinous, though, and greatly to be avoided, that he [the non-Christian] should hear a Christian speaking so idiotically on these matters, and as if in accord with Christian writings, that he might say that he could scarcely keep from laughing when he saw how totally in error they are. In view of this and in keeping it in mind constantly while dealing with the book of Genesis, I have, insofar as I was able, explained in detail and set forth for consideration the meanings of obscure passages, taking care not to affirm rashly some one meaning to the prejudice of another and perhaps better explanation.
Let's ask a scientist on the likelihood that a virgin gave birth. Let's ask a scientist on how a person who was hung slowly, pierced with a gushing spear wound, and shut away for 3 days in a tomb for three days would be able to push a giant stone away and be up and walking around.

Where is the line at what we believe is true and is metaphor? Does it reside in the Pope's hat?

Of course not. A guy who lives as a hermit who lives off of locusts and wild honey had it all wrong. Men wearing tons of gold and jewelery is exactly what Jesus had in mind as our teachers.

                              Sister Kitty,

while I agree with the spirit of your statements and hate the Papists as much as Sweet Baby Jesus does, I'm afraid I have to defend them here. It used to be fine to papists.

But at least from the written word of canon law, they made some drastic changes over the last few years and have gone so far as to elevate the punishment for raping a child to be on the same level as the punishment for ordaining a female into priesthood or improper discarding of consecrated wafers.

So as you can see, the Papists now provide a clear moral compass for all Roman Catholics to follow with regards to these three, obviously equally abominable crimes. If only secular law caught up with canon law to recognize the futility of equal rights for women...

                              YiC,

Mark 11: 12-14: "And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever." You cannot hide from JESUS' wrath behind natural laws! Gravity is only a theory and will not prevent the rapture!

while I agree with the spirit of your statements and hate the Papists as much as Sweet Baby Jesus does, I'm afraid I have to defend them here.

I stand corrected. By a forum member, no less. That does not often happen, yet it has now occurred twice in one week.

I shall ask my husband to administer the proper discipline. I hope it does not involve ice water again.
