  • The peasant has arrived.

Greetings Lords and Ladies of the Landover Baptist Church!
I call my self Bow&Arrow and have humbly chosen to join you forum community.
I can see you have a lot of interesting topics and discussions and fight valiantly to defend your self against invasion from both other religions, but also other view points.

I am not a man of divine wisdom or a flood of religious quotes, but I do see my self as a noble and friendly human being. I will show the owners, regular users and visitors of this forum the respect and civility they show me and ask of me.

I am not Baptist my self. To be honest I take a much more scientific standpoint to every thing then what I have observed here on this forum for the last year and a half. Yes I have been observing your grand community for some time and I applaud you!

You quote you holy bible and show us heathens and none-believers that nothing can or will stop you from ascending to heaven on the day our lord and his son march forth with their army of angels to cleanse the world of faithless people.

I will come forth immediately and say “I am a heathen! I believe that there is something greater then us mortal humans, but is it an almighty god or other mystical beings? I do not know and have not seen; read, heard or felt anything that has convinced me. (Yes I have read the bible and heard all the scientific, theological and philosophical ideas/theories, and so fare none has convinced me)

I bow to your conviction and hail you integrity. I shall try to keep my self on your good side and hope to have pleasant and civil conversations with you her on your forum.

Okay. Thanks, I guess. But what is your purpose here? Conversations about what? You've made it clear you do not believe the Bible to be the literal Word of God while we, of course, do. Thus, there sadly seems little point in conversing with you as you are so closed-minded.

Even though I wrote I have seen; heard and read a lot, I am still searching for prof of one thing and the other. I don't think my self closed-minded. I just take every thing with a grain of salt and evaluate everything against each other.

And I thought I should at least introduce my self before posting any where else.

So… you’re a kind of… agnostic? You know what an agnostic is? A cowardly atheist. Indeed, there's nothing an agnostic can't do if he doesn't know whether he believes in anything or not.

I despite your lack of any conviction and curse your deceitfulness; you’re next to a lukewarm, cherry picking “christian”.

And FYI: there’s nothing mystical about God.
Ask not what your Lord can do for you. Ask what you can do for your Lord.

                Uuuh!
I see the verbal weapons have already been drawn.

It saddens me to see how an agnostic (as you so precisely label me) can enter a public forum like this, and before I have had a chance to more actively commune with you, get attacked with such a negative response.

If I have offended you Mr. Holier by categorising God as mystical, I shall do as I respect you of doing and stand by my belief and ask what I should label your Lord, when I (as agnostic) don't claim to believe in him?

I arrived her looking for people who maybe could convince me, but so fare I don't feel welcome at all. (is that the idea behind collecting Gods people? Making them feel unwelcome?)

Have you considered making baby Jesus welcome in your hearts, Mr Bow? To be welcome you must be welcoming. Is fair, no?

Where have you been attacked? Please be specific, with quotes, and why you categorize each as an "attack."

I see people gently questioning you, to determine your motivation for the most part.

                    Yours in Christ,

                      Re: The peasant has arrived.

                      Ah.
                      Malady talks true!
In my search I feel open, but I keep asking my self "what if?"

"If there can exist an all mighty God. Then why not more?"
"If Jesus really sacrificed him self for our sins. Why do we still suffer punishment?" (No insults intended)

I have read a lot of wise words from the holy Bible, but other religions also have wisdom to share. This is why I have chosen the path of Agnosticism, but I respect other religions and seek to see the same insight and enlightenment as the disciples of said religions.

That is why may journey has brought me her.
I shall listen to your wisdom, and consider your words.
But if verbal weapons must be drawn I assure you I shall learn to defend my self.

I hate to double post but your respond arrived while I was typing.

I read the following proclamation as a verbal "attack" but rest assured I do not hold it against him.

Why is it that when any True Christian speaks the truth about an unbeliever, it's called an attack, while unbelievers who attack good God fearing folk say they are just speaking the truth?

Mr. Arrow, please take a break from posting for a while and take your time to contemplate all the wisdom and knowledge True Christians™ share here - before judging wrongfully this Godly community, please.

                              Dear Yeshua bar Yusuf

I can understand the confusion and the feeling of unfairness.

When Mr Holier proclaimed his view of me as a fact, I took it as a verbal attack.

Had he rephrased it to sound more like his personal view with "I place you" or some thing similar I would not have been offend.

I have observed that a lot of the "non-believers" that visit your forum tend to stamp your words and posts as one thing or another. That is what I categorise as verbal attack. Because they do not respect your belief or standpoint.

I on the other hand do, and try to formulate my responses so they only state my opinion and views.

And to you Mr Holier I shall do as you suggest and contemplate your words so fare.
