    Praise Jesus!

Hello, my name is Mr. Hunt and I have been on a quest for Jesus to find the place he's called me to be. Only in the last day have I discovered Landover Baptist Church and seen that it is indeed God's favorite church! The wisdom of the pastors and deacons even so much as I have witnessed since discovering this forum have convinced me that Jesus is in this place and that I couldn't have found a better, more profitable place to learn about our Lord from True Christians.

I became saved merely three years ago and am still very much undergoing my full transformation. Though I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and serve Him to the best of my ability, I know I am not as wise as many of the beloved Christians I have read from here. To that end, having just recently become baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, I am determined to do my utmost to serve Him through learning, spreading the news to unbelievers and tithing faithfully with all that I have.

I am a white American citizen from an ungodly family (though my parents and every generation I can track were married in a church) and I am eager to serve the Lord in obedience. God Himself says in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

I firmly believe that through the directing of my paths God will teach me to become even closer to Him and, God willing, I will become a better crusader for Christ. Praise God, the only true Being worthy of Praise!
I have renounced my old ways of fornication and idolatry and pray that this forum will help me grow stronger in Him.

I would be more than happy to answer any questions anyone has about my history or current faith. I actually have one question I would like to ask concerning tithing: how do I start tithing to Christ through Landover Baptist Church? I am eager to begin giving to Him through this Church since I am convinced it is one that can be used by God in great ways.

Welcome young man! What a wonderful and courteous introduction, praise Jesus.

How do you earn your shekels? Have you been fruitful and multiplied, as we are commanded by God? What particular filthy sin made you turn to Jesus?

    In Christ
Matthew 19:14 "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

Brother Harold, thank you for the welcome. God bless you.
Most of my shekel-earning is through farming, an occupation which I find fulfilling as it is in obedience with God's commandment found in Genesis 1:28: "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

In this same verse I have observed the commandment to be fruitful and multiply but as of yet I have not found a True Christian wife, though I know that to obey God's commandments I must. Unfortunately it would seem God does not at this time see fit to provide me with the means to have children. But praise God, he can and will some day!

As for how Christ led me to Himself, before I was saved I slept with women with the intent of starting a family without marriage. It was actually one of these women that rejected my advances due to her own faith! Unfortunately she and I parted ways before I became saved and so she is not an option for a wife for me. Still, God saw fit to present me with His word, even from the mouth of a woman. Praise the Lord!

Welcome Mr. Hunt. Nice to meet another God Fearing American. Tell me, what verse from the beautiful KJV makes you proudest to be a child of God?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Friend, Jesus loves your attitude. Truly He does love a cheerful giver.

The thing is, getting to attend, and therefore give most of your worldly possessions to Landover Baptist, is like winning the lottery. Attending LBC is like getting Green Bay Packers or Duke basketball season tickets.

It is a very exclusive church. Running your credit and financials could take weeks. Maybe even months.

It takes a certain amount of dedication to Jesus' Holy Mission.

Farming is a strong and manly practice, insofar as it involves the slaughter of helpless animals. Growing vegetables, not so much. As we know, the Lord was pleased by Abel's bloody sacrifice, and was indifferent to Cain's vegetarian one.

How many pigs have you hacked to death lately? How much bacon do you consume on a daily basis? What a glorious lifestyle you must lead, being a farmer.

It must be so satisfying to take a dull machete to the spine of an enormous sow, who can barely move much less defend herself, right in front of her own piglets, and then feed them the ground up cartilage of their own mother. Glory! Sing Hosanna!

              Indeed, praise God!
The verse from God's word that makes me the proudest? With little doubt I would have to choose the wonderful passage from Hebrews 12:29!
"For our God is a consuming fire."
Such a sweet and simple passage we are presented with by God. Praise the Lord, he is a consuming fire and no unbeliever will be overlooked by his righteous and perfect wrath!

Of course, it would make sense that such a beautiful church full of True Christians would not be easy to become involved in fully! It is clear to me that Landover Baptist is not a petty church of false-Christians who would accept anyone equally into their ranks of blasphemers.
In which case I will most certainly give all the dedication I can to Jesus' Holy Mission - I feel what I have to tithe is more likely to be used for God's true glory here than in many other churches where, sad as it is, it seems God's rightful tithes are used selfishly for the glory only of the people who take it up.

Indeed, praise the Lord for his bountiful provisions, I currently raise and slaughter beef cattle as well as chickens for the provision of myself and what remains I sell and give the profit to the Lord. Only through His blessings am I able to experience the joy of provision through chopping up meals in my own home - just as the Lord provided manna (and quail!) straight from Heaven for his children in the wilderness (Exodus 16:12), God has provided food for me with no dependence required toward other humans, only Himself.

Wow. God using a woman to achieve something good? Truly, He works in mysterious ways.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Amen, truly He does. And Praise Him that He does! For because of His infinite wisdom in using such means as a woman, even sinners such as I was can become clean.
