    Greetings, all!

    Allow me to introduce myself,
I'm Savanah, a seventeen year-old young woman from Lakeside, CA. I'm currently a senior at El Capitan High. I write for the El Capitan Horizon, and I'm the funds manager for Club AVID.
I'm coming here as an accepting person. I have no set religious views, as I've been in and out of different homes since a very young age, each with their own personal perspective. Yes, I DO believe in God. I'm not an atheist, nor would I ever consider myself one.
As a person, I come here to discuss different views and opinions, as well as build connections that could help me find a better understanding of God as others know him.
I do promise that I will not disrespect ANYONE's view, whether I agree or disagree. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, God, and path of religion.
    With that said, hello everyone.

      Re: Greetings, all!

My biological father, sad to say, is not in my life. I also lost my mother several years ago, due to illness. I now reside with my grandparents.
Both are very ill themselves, so I don't really have the ability to attend church.

Excellent! What God do you believe in?

The God in the Bible, or Oprah's made-up fluffy-bunny "omnibenevolent" God?

Note: "omnibenevolence" is in no way supported by the Bible. It was made up in recent centuries.

Oh, that's easy! You can understand God by just reading one book!
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, God, and path of religion.
But Savanah, there can only be one true God, and only one true path. Why would you encourage people to follow lies that lead to damnation?

Do you think that's really a kind and loving thing to do?
        Bible boring? Nonsense!

I believe in a Higher Power. I've always been taught that so-long as I understand the "bigger picture," and that it isn't me controlling my fate, but something on a larger, more magnificent scale, I'll be alright.
And as for people walking a singular path, I firmly believe that everyone must go through trial and error. By biblical standards, we are all sinners. And we all do fall into ruts now and then. As people, we are prone to make different choices, and face different consequences. Whether it be as little as shirt color or as big as who you wed, it is a decision God allows you to make, though guides you. Thus allowing you to carve your own path.

So you're saying God is wrong, and you are right?

Or are you saying the Bible isn't God's Word?

Because, you see, not a single religion claims that other religions are also right. Each claims that only it is correct.

Christianity, of course, IS correct. This makes anything not-Christianity a path to an eternity being burned alive in God's Lake of Fire.

Don't you think that if God didn't want us to believe the Bible, He'd tell us so?

I'm not saying the Bible is wrong. At all. The Bible is God's word. There is no fighting that truth.
I'm saying that I consider God a Higher Power. I recognize him as the "captain of my soul" ('Invictus') quote. He guides me in the right direction, though he does grant us the choice to make decisions that he's given us.

Except for those who, like me, are washed clean of sin in Christ's blood.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

1 John 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

So if you become a filthy queer who molests children, that's God guiding you there? Or if you become a witch? Or worse yet, an atheist?

There are certain extremes in which that philosophy does not apply. But such choices as marriage, beliefs, and morals (DECENT choices) are led by Him.

So then where do you draw the line?

See, we True Christians(tm) follow the Holy Bible to the letter, as God commands.

Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Matthew 4:4 Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

If you have to think twice about something that could be "questionable," the person should probably walk away. Immediately.
Or you know... they'll get God-nuked.

On the contrary, God clearly commands to "Don't trust yourself."

He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
