    Hello

okay so i'm no christian. but i do read plenty of bible and love discussing it. Who better to discuss it with than some actual christians right?

I'm not here to have a go at you and tell you you're wrong. I'm simply here for some of your points of view and discuss the bible. (it's a great book)

My house mate is a christian, as is my father but i'm not quite convinced. But we love discussing it. I hope you will too!

          Re: Introduction. Hello guys!

There's really no discussing the Bible. God is right and that's that. End of discussion.

However if you would like to learn more about the Word of God, then welcome! You'll find the Pastors and other men around here really know their way around the Scripture. I think you'll find your time here to be very enlightening.

The bible is like the U.S. Constitution. It was written by humans. It is meant to be interpreted. Thats why there are judges to interpret the constitution and there are different religions because people interpret the bible differently.

Unlike the Constitution, however, the writers of the Holy Bible (and the later translators of the KJV 1611) were moved by the Holy Spirit. There is no interpretation involved in following the Word of God. It is written, and we obey It, as It is written.

              II Peter 1:20-21
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

It would seem that the LORD has brought you here for a reason. What, specifically, do you have a hard time believing about God's Word? To borrow a line from the Declaration of Independence, I find God's Truths to be quite self-evident.
              II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. Dear friend.

Of course you can not interpret the Bible, it is God's word, you can read and understand and then you have the choice: will you live by the Bible, or you will burn in hell, it's very simple.

The Constitution however, may be interpreted because it have to follow and fit into people's time.

Or put another way: the Constitution should follow the people, but people MUST follow God.

To avoid confusion, all governments should impose their own laws, instead of following the Bible, there would never be unjust convictions and innocent convicted

The Constitution admits it is full of errors because it contains a process (the amendment function) that can be used to change or clarify it. The Bible contains no such mechanism because It is perfect.
