The Bible tells us that people like you cannot understand the Holy Scripture because your father is satan.
I'm pretty sure my father wasn't Satan. I don't believe in him either. But I'm not asking what the Bible says about it. I'm asking what YOU say! On another note, I understood the Bible, I just didn't believe it.
On another note, I notice that I am now on the "fast bus to Aeternal Damnation." You are aware that I believe that there is nothing after death?
Actually, the Bible is not the "perfect and inerrant Word of God". I am sure that someone before me will have mentioned this, but there have been many iterations of the Bible before the King James Version including different translations, some of which had VAST differences and mistakes.
The KJV says that it is the inspired word of God. Therefore any book that contradicts it is false. Two logically contradictory propositions cannot both be true at the same time.
I am aware that I am on your turf, but can you give me something better than circular arguments? Please? Make me BELIEVE! I've READ the Bible and attended church. I sang for ten hours a week in the glory of the Lord! I want to see some attempts at justification!
For a final note, your faith is absolutely incredible. I wish I could believe in something, but unfortunately I cannot. I really admire those who can.
If staying out of Hell is not enough incentive for you to believe, how is a justification going to help?
Without belief in Jesus, how are you ever going to understand that something like romantic love between two consenting members of the same sex is wrong, or that children should be stoned to death if they are unruly, or that women are inferior to men, or that the punishment for rape should be that you have to buy the woman from her father for 50 shekels? I imagine if I was an atheist like you, I would think that everyone should be equal, but I have GOD to set me straight!

What does that have to do with it? I might believe it's safe to sleep on a railway track, it won't stop the outcome?
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The other option is the fire of hell. You say you want evidence, an eternity screaming in pain should do it.

Actually, two logically contradictory propositions CAN be true at the same time. It has been proved that light behaves like both a wave AND a particle: two things thought previously mutually exclusive

You have a point there.

I could say something about sexism, homophobia and intolerence now, but I'm sure it's been said multiple times before.
Thanks for your welcome. I'm pretty sure it was Christian, considering I attended every single service and concert during which there were Bible verses, sermons and Christian music. We also had a Bishop.
Based on what you are saying, it was not Christian, it was catlick as only the catlick cult has bishops and popes. Did you know, catlicks pray to mary, a 'virginal' mother of Jesus? Did you know Jesus and God are one and the same? Seems to me, you made some pretty important choices based on a lack of and poor quality knowledge.
I don't ignore God per se, I am aware that people believe in His existence, but I personally have to see something to believe it. I don't condemn anyone for believing anything I personally don't, but proof is always a good thing
Do you believe I exist? How about South Africans or people from New Jersey? Proof is a terrific thing however if you spend all your time proving things, you will have no time to do anything else. A little faith is all that is needed. Do you think the world is a wondrous place to be?
Actually, Jesus of Nazareth DID exist around 4 BC, but whether or not he was the Son of God remains to be proven fact.
If you did a little research, you'd know that Jesus is the son of God and in fact, is God Himself. See, you cannot start a book or a subject, profess expertise until you have all the facts.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it? Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
What does that have to do with it? I might believe it's safe to sleep on a railway track, it won't stop the outcome?

That is a good point. I actually have no idea what kind of point I was attempting to make there. I suppose I'll feel rather silly then when I am in hell. I bet you'll feel silly if I turn out to be right though.

Incorrect. It was actually Church of England - the Church which wrote the KJV. I did know that CATHOLICS do all those things, however CofE also has Bishops etc. Do your research please.

I have proof of your existence. You're talking to me aren't you? I have proof of the other things you've mentioned too - I've met people from those places. No, I think the world is an awful place. Really, truly horrible. But people can attempt to make it better after all the awful things we've done to it and each other.

As an Englishmen I can tell you that the Church of England are not True Christians anymore. Maybe they were in 1611 however now they allow female vicars, bless gay marriages and go along with evolution. They have turned their back on God so cannot be considered Christian.

I'm sorry that you think that way. I was merely pointing out that he was wrong about me being Catholic. Also, the CofE does not bless gay marriage. Gay marriage can only be done in a civil partnership.
As for female clergy, most people find that a step forward. All the female priests I have met have done nothing but love their God.
Evolution, if you know all your facts, can be shown in a way that helps you show your God. Denying it just makes people look uninformed.

See your above quote please. A lot of doubt in your words, friend.

Circular? Please explain. Everyone knows God and Jesus are one and the same. Just like my name is James but some people call me Jim. How is that circular? 1 John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Summing up then, the Christian Church teaches that although there is but one God, that God exists in three persons. An analogy taken from nature would be the egg. An egg consists of three distinct parts; the shell, the white, and the yolk, yet there is but one egg. This is but a simplification to help us understand a great mystery. As you read the Scriptures, you will understand it only as you see that the Father sent the Son to die for our sins. The Son was sent as a man: otherwise He could not be our substitute to take our sins away. Jesus was God in the flesh. As God, He gave infinite power to the sacrifice that He made on the Cross, and as a sinless man, He became a substitute for sinful mankind, and bore the punishment for our sins. The Holy Spirit, Who is also God, came to dwell within each believer, giving that person the power to live in victory over sin.
Theologians use the term circumcession; that is, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are always in perfect unity of purpose and substance, in the relations of interexistence, intercommunication, and interaction. We cannot understand this Trinity in Unity, but the Bible teaches it. We take it by faith.

Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
So if you are right then I spend eternity in peace,
And if I am right you spend eternity screaming in agony.
Are you sure you have thought this through?

I assumed that saying I was British meant it was CofE. My apologies, I realise now that it was misleading.

No. I have proof of your existance. You are not a voice in my head. You type etc. Once again, apologies for possibly being misleading.
You hate clouds, snow, beaches, oceans forrests? Very sad.People can make the world horrible. People how hate the world. People who hate Jesus.
I did not say I hated the Earth. I said I hated the world. I was speaking of the people and culture therein and what they do to each other and the Earth. Make no mistake, I am no environmentalist, but I enjoy nature itself.

I am aware of that. I was merely pointing out that you had returned to the same argument that Jesus is fact because the literature glorifying him says so. That would be like me saying Harry Potter is the main character in a book, therefore he is real. I don't because he isn't.
