  • Good evening. :)

(I believe this is how I'm supposed to post in the "intro" section, please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks)

    Hello everyone.

For the sake of it being online, my name's Shell. I'm 18 years old. I live in California. I move around a lot so I haven't been to church in a long time, therefore I've viewed my spirituality, in the past years, as more of a personal connection.

I got account here because I'm curious and interested to look around.

    xoxo

        Your name is "Shell"? Okay.

I move around a lot so I haven't been to church in a long time,
The good news is that even gypsies are capable of receiving Jesus' kind offer of Redemption. My heart rejoices that the LORD has brought you here. There is no better place to learn about what the Bible teaches.

therefore I've viewed my spirituality, in the past years, as more of a personal connection.
A personal connection with what? This is a Christian forum, and we praise Jesus here. If you're not on board with that, then you shouldn't presume to fellowship with us. The Holy Bible (KJV 1611) commands us to separate ourselves from the unsaved.

        II Corinthians 6:14-17
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Therefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

I got account here because I'm curious and interested to look around.
I hope you are here for more than that. This is a place of praise and fellowship.
        II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. You live in California? Me too! What church do you attend? If it's a legitimate one, I've probably worshiped there!

I'd rather not give my full name out on the internet, my father taught me not to.

Like, a personal connection with the Lord, if that makes sense. Because I haven't attended an actual church, I've been praying by myself, because otherwise it would be not at all. If that makes sense.

And I am, that was just the initial reason I joined.

If you are looking for a personal connection with the LORD, then you have to follow Jesus.

              John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Have you set aside a prayer closet yet? (Matthew 6:6)

It seems you were guided here for a reason. My heart rejoices that Jesus brought you here.

                That's what I meant.

Not yet. My closet is very small. I'm in a college dorm, so... Does it have to be a closet? Am I taking it too literally?

Friend, you can never take the Bible too literally!

The Bible means exactly what it says; God isn't in the business of playing word games.

Exactly. The Holy Bible (KJV 1611) means what It says.

                    Deuteronomy 12:32
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

                    Matthew 4:4
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

                    James 2:10
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Just thought maybe it was figurative.

In that case, no, I do not have a prayer closet, and my closet is very very small here in my little dorm, therefore that might have to wait a bit.
