        Dear Neil,

        Take no notice of the unsaved trash, yours was a sensible question and I will give you a sensible answer.

        The NIV is not the original Bible and as such should not be relied as expounding God's word. Our Lord tells us not to change his Word in any way and that is what the NIV does. You should get a King James Version of the Bible, this is the proper one and the only one we use.

        Deuteronomy 4:2
        Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

          Can you give me a few more in-depth reasons as to why I should just throw the NIV I've been reading for a long time and replace it with the KJV. I mean is it true that they really butchered the word when they were translating it into the NIV? Could you possible link me to a relating thread or discussion?

            Maybe you should download a KJV Bible app for your smartphone and spend your time reading God's Word, rather than trying to justify your use of the NIV online.

            Then when you get to your computer, you can type in a more sensible manner.

                            Friend, that title only comes with time, prayer, fasting, tithing, and with the endurance of persecution. That is not a thing you ask for. It is obtained when clear evidence has been shown of your following the Word of God to the letter and when it is certain that you are not afraid to put Jesus above all things in your life--including family, your identity, and your own freedom.

                              I already mentioned that I'm straight, and am going to read the bible (KJV now that I've learned that the NIV is incomplete) from cover to cover.
