Friend, the Bible was not meant to be interpreted AT ALL!!! Now, if I am mistaken I apologize and would like to be shown the passage where God tells us 'to wing it'.
Do you honestly think God had passages like that put in for His amusement?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Friend, you need to work on your comprehension. I never said I thought God wrote the Bible. What an absurd idea! Where do you people come up with this stuff?

Next time, think before you speak, you'll look less foolish.

            See above.

Then consider all of the verse:
            Psalm 137

1 By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept
            when we remembered Zion.
            2 There on the poplars
            we hung our harps,
3 for there our captors asked us for songs,
            our tormentors demanded songs of joy;
they said, “Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”

4 How can we sing the songs of the Lord
            while in a foreign land?
5 If I forget you, Jerusalem,
may my right hand forget its skill.
6 May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth
if I do not remember you,
if I do not consider Jerusalem
            my highest joy.

7 Remember, Lord, what the Edomites did
            on the day Jerusalem fell.
            “Tear it down,” they cried,
“tear it down to its foundations!”
8 Daughter Babylon, doomed to destruction,
happy is the one who repays you
according to what you have done to us.
9 Happy is the one who seizes your infants
and dashes them against the rocks.

Taking things out of context is ridiculous. Do you really think when a brit says 'bloody' that blood is everywhere?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

In this verse the writer is speaking of Babylonian babies. While they were born in sin they are never given the oppertunity to recieve the lord

                  Oh, I get it.

You're another atheist, here to pretend that you're a Christian for 30 or 40 seconds, then whip out what you think is a "gotcha", a verse you take wholly out of context and assume we've never seen. Cuz golly gee, nobody who actually read the Bible would do what God commands!

Gee, trolls never pull that stunt.

I assure you I follow the christian faith. I like how immediately you attempt to judge me as one who does not believe in God when I'm simply trying to make a point that not everything in the bible should be interpreted literally. I would like to see the verse where they told us to do that to. I also do nt believe all of it is metaphorical.

How can you call yourself a Christian, then say that the Bible is false?

How do you know of God and Jesus, outside of the Bible?

Also, do you know what it says about God for His Bible to be inaccurate? Let me explain it logically, the way you atheists like:
                      God is all-powerful, right? Right!
                      God is all-knowing, right? Right!

That means that God knows exactly what the Bible says, and has the ability to change every copy in the entire world in the blink of an eye, should He so desire. Right?

                      RIGHT!
What does this tell us? It tells us that the Bible says exactly what God wants it to say.

If the Bible is not what God wants it to say, then one of the following conditions must exist:
                      • God is either not all-knowing or all-powerful, and thus not much of a god.
                      • God knows it is wrong and wants it to be wrong, so that we will be misled and be damned to unending torment. This means God is malevolent.
                      • God doesn't care what we do, the Bible is all made up, and we actually know nothing about God and may as well be Deists.
                      • God does not exist.
So, which of these options do you consider the most likely?
                      Bible boring? Nonsense!

What rules do you use to decide what you should take literally and which ones you should alter to suit your own ideas.

For instance Leviticus 20:13 tells us queers should be killed. Where would this fit in your sliding scale of Biblical factuality?

So you make up a god in your imagination, who happens to agree with you on everything you believe, instead of reading the Book which I have already logically demonstrated must be what He wants us to follow.

What you "hear in your heart" is what you want to believe. It could just as easily be Satan talking to you.
                                Bible boring? Nonsense!
