My name is Dominic Deckys, I'm a 17 year old kid, I'm a senior in high school, and I want to study computer science at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
I attend a Christian Church in Boulder, Colorado.
I am a white, straight male.
My favorite bible verse is so:
Mark 12:31 The second is this:‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
I came to find Jesus when coming into high school, it was a tough time in my life, my grades suffered, and faith in god helped me get through that. My mother is a breast cancer survivor, and when she was diagnosed, it was hard for the whole family.
I am not trying to create debate, I joined this forum because I love god, and I want to speak with people who share my love.
But, I disagree with this forum's position on homosexuality. I think that god loves everyone regardless of the sexuality or race. I am a proud christian that loves his neighbor regardless of sex or race, and I go to a church that shares my views.
During my troubled time in high school, I had a friend who was VERY intelligent, and helped me get my act together and prepare myself for my future. Later I found out that he was homosexual. Love is love, and we are all gods children.
I don't believe in sex before marriage. I am opposed to smoking anything, and as a personal choice, I have decided not to drink regularly EVER, although I don't disagree with people who do decide to drink.
I have two cats. I have a little brother and a little sister, both of whom look up to me. I love my beautiful girlfriend, and we are very happy together. I enjoy participating in activities my church does, and I like helping others. But, most importantly, I love god and want to have him in my life, and do everything I can to help others and make a loving, more accepting world.
"Be the change you wish to see in the world" - Gandhi
One of my favorite quotations.
Oh, another question. Because of my differed beliefs on the homosexuality debate, in your eyes, would I be going to hell even though I'm not homosexual myself?
