And the evidence for that stuff about Satan is....
You are making things up that sound reasonable inside your own head.

Re: A Candle in the Darkness
I'm not making things up, it's common sense. God wants men to pray and because Satan does not men to have a closeness to God he does not want men to pray. A true Christian needs to pray on all he does, all important decisions need to be made through prayer and asking of God. Satan does in truth hate mankind and wants to lead us astray, to become his slaves and to move use away from God's Light. How am I making anything up? Also just by reading the Bible one comes to understand Satan's personality, his deceptiveness and trickery. He wishes to led us astray and have us turn away from God.Originally posted by Redeemed Papist View PostWhere's your evidence for anything at all about Satan's personality?

Sister Mary: God wishes to protect while Satan wises to harm. God always tells the truth while Satan lies. Also God wants us to pray always, whith real intent while Satan does all he can to make sure we don't pray. I know that when I pray to God he will answer me, that my faith in him will open my eyes to understanding.
1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually
Psalms 145:18 The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Romans 8:26-27
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you
Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive
Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

James Hutchins: Where have I showed a lack of scripture? Also you never answered my question, where in the bible does it say the wife's family needs to give fifty shekels to the husband's family? There is nothing in the Bible that says the wife's family should do such. Perhaps it is a tradition in your family but I do not see anything that says such in the Bible.
Also what lack of motivation? I want nothing more then to get married and have children, yet does that mean I should meet complete stranger that I don't even know? That and God did not say I could never meet any of you simply that I shouldn't even consider meeting anyone from this site as of yet. My mother does not rule my life, though I do respect her wisdom and faithfulness. There is no one in my life I can truelly trust but for her and God himself. I can't rust my brother, since he is living a life counter to God's plan and my father died.
I live in a loving home, one led by God and the scriptures. My mother and myself pray, read scriptures, and speak with each other on our day. I tell my mother everything, showing my faith to God in how I honor my mother as per the commandment Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.”
My cooking is just fine, I fast because the Bible shows the importance of fasting.
Acts 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work where unto I have called them.
Acts 14:23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.
Luke 2:37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
1 Corinthians 7:1–5 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. 2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. 3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. 4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. 5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
Matthew 6:16–18 16Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
As a wife I would bear and raise children, though I would expect my husband to be a part of the process. He too would be a parent and both parents are to raise the children together even though the wife will need to do so alone when her husband is at work. I would also keep the house clean and when my children get old enough I will teach them to clean after themselves. The bottem line is I would not shirk from my duties, and I will work with my husband to make sure our marriage is a success.
Actually marriage and the family are of such great importance that Satan focuses many of his attacks on these two things. On just need to look at the number of divorces, abortions, and other things that are breaking down the structure of the homes.

Ralph: I do follow the Bible, it guides my life and shows me what to do. My father died because of a work related injury and my mother never remarried out of respect for her memory of him. Actually I do have male influences, they just are not family. Neighbors, friends, teachers all these and more I have that influence my life, both male and female. But they are also Bible readers, as I know the dangers of being around the wrong company. The 'worst' I have need to experience is going to a public school and anything I am told there I compare and contrast with what is in the Bible so I do not get led astray. My mother could get another husband but none would be my father, she will have no one else though mern have offered. I desire many things, a righteous husband that bases his actions on the life of Jesus Christ, children to raise and bring unto God, to life my life based on what I read in the Bible, and to publish that which I write. I would not sit around reading (I read many genres of books), but keep the house clean, cook meals, and work around the house. When the time comes I would raise my children along side my husband.
Ralph, my Father and God has does the same though he has also given me wisdom not to put myself in situations that could harm me. He has taught me to pray and the importance of making the Bible of daily importance as well as a guide in my life. I will not compromise my faith in God, or his Word for anyone or anything... not even my own life. If we were to get married I would be happy to help you stay on God's path but only if you do the same.
That is your choice, if you really respect me you would encourage me to obey my mother (honor they father and they mother) and God's answer to my prayers. Both of them told me not to pursue a relationship with those on this site and I will obey God when he tells me something. Actually in this cause the above commandment can apply fully as God is my Father. My mother and God are my authority figures and I would sin disobeying them. I prayed to God and received an answer, who am I to go against him?

Deaner: I told you he was dead

James Hutchins: How could you say that? I am interested only in having a husband that follows God and can take care of his family.

Re: A Candle in the Darkness
Hi Ashley, Ralph here.
I cannot afford to spend time on a woman who does not follow the Bible. I am not sure of how your father died and whether the reason was one to enable your mother to remarry. In any case, she did not. Not having a mans influence in your life has obviously seriously damaged you. I have to figure your mother is one of 'those' women who for a multitude of reasons are unable to attract and keep a man. Like mother, like daughter.
You lack of desire to show your true self leads any normal person to know you are hiding something. Morbid obesity, bad skin, horrifying unclean smells and poor bone structure. Your desire to sit around and read fantasy books while I am working all the time is simply crazy talk. It certainly fits in with why you want to hide from reality.
You see Ashley (if that is really your name), my Father and God have instilled into me morals and ethics. I will not compromise either one. I am FasTracked® to be a major success. God has endowed me with His blessing. I am only interested in a person who will work with me on my train ride of life and will not be useless baggage.
So the bottom line is, my time is valuable and I will not waste it on lost causes. You failed to attack my eye.
Just so there are no ill feelings, I will give you a coupon for a free Chick-A-Fil sandwich of your choice along with a large fries and a drink. Please give me the mailing address you want it sent to.

Ralph and I had a talk too. He felt your extreme lack of knowledge of the Bible to very unsettling to say the least as well as your apparent lack of motivation. I find it very disconcerting that your mother rules your life. What kind of a home do you live in? I am also concerned about your fasting, is that because you are a bad cook? Being that is a primary responsibility for a wife (along with birthing, rearing and general maintenance of children)as well as keeping a home spotless, you can understand my worries.
Ralph is buying the first of fifty Chick-A-Fils in December. The last thing he wants (and needs) is a wife who shirks her obligations. He has obligations to God and country. His wife must be prepared to do what ever he requires of her to make a marriage a success.
We need to se a photograph to ensure you are not some ditzy ring-ding eater.

Fixed post and made a couple of edits, seems posting on Firefox caused the spaces between sentences and paragraphs to go away.Originally posted by StarDreamerNight View PostI do not have much time, but after double checking the scriptures I am confused with the need of 50 shekels as the only place where it talks 50 in the case of marriage is this Deuteronomy 22 counting this: Deuteronomy 22:29 29 Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days. Where exactly in the Bible does it say a wife's family need to give fifty shekels to the husband's family?
Another question, a supervised shower? Do you mean your father watched you take a shower?
